Nathan, I own both the S&W SD9VE and M&P 2.0 Compact. The SD9VE is the value enhanced product. Materials used on slide and some internal parts are an alloy or MIM parts instead of machined steel or stainless steel. Also the treatment/coating of the slide is less expensive on VE model. Grip is nice, but less expensive to produce on the VE. Both good triggers. A little better take up and break on the M&P 2.0. Both are good shooters. Do you want to spend $300 or $500? I Love em' both.

One just has more bells and whistles than the other. Sort of like comparing a Cadillac to a Chevy.
