  • Hi, total newbie here... could someone tell me the difference between this cheaper version of S&W SD9VE 10+1 9mm 4" vs. "California Approved" version? It seems like they have the same specs and same mag capacity, not sure why where was a price difference? Thanks!

  • The price difference is because they have to change the trigger group. Anything that is sold to a niche market like CA only will be a higher price thanks to supply and demand. Your state is beautiful, but sorry that they have the most backward gun laws in the country. In a way I believe that CA knows that by imposing stricter and stricter requirements, gun manufacturers eventually won't bother to adhere to them and they won't be legal to sell in CA. Gen-4 Glocks are a prime example.
