it will depend on what you want to do with it and if you are a reloaded for most hunting I will stay with the 308 and you can buy .308 ammo everywhere 6.5 can be hard to find

The 6.5 Creedmoor for those of us who shoot it and love it is a better option but barrel life is about half that of the 308. Expect to replace the barrel on the Creedmoor more often. Hitting at 1000 yards with either cartridge is more about practice than the cartridge. I like the Creedmoor because it kicks less.

Erik, the 6.5 would be a better option in my opinion. It uses a better streamlined, sectional density bullet that will have way less drop and better wind bucking capability out to the 1000yd mark.
