Wild, this is not common if it is on a non moving part of the rife's metal. This could very well be an insufficient blueing/coating and should be addressed by DPMS Customer Service at 1-800-578-3767 or by Email: info@dpmsinc.com --- Mon-Fri 9:00 AM -5:00 PM EST

it would depends on where the Bluing loss is if it is a moving part then yes you may see loss after on a few rounds I would contact DPMS and see what they say Phone: 1-800-578-3767
