Is it safe to shoot this left hand or will I have to worry about shells hitting me in the face don’t want to cough up the money for the versa max.

Justin,It is safe. If you have your face/cheek pressed/welded to the stock shooting left handed you will not get hit in the face by ejected shells. The ejected shells will not even hit your right shoulder. My son is a left handed shooter and has never been hit by a spent shell case on any semi-auto shotgun.
