The projectiles will tumble unless you give them some spin. Foster style and Brenneke slugs will work.
100% safe and ive done it thousands of times. Accuracy is effected but not by very much.
It will be slightly less accurate but will fire just fine. Will still be minute of deer out to 100yds.

Been using these about 6-7 years and love them. I shoot both smooth barrel and rifled. In a rifled barrel they will shoot 1-2- inch groups at a 100 yards and are devastating. I shot a little 12 point whitetail last year and the damage was like my 30-06 or 300 Wby. Now out of the smooth bore they are about the same as foster slugs, just faster. I only get about 4-5 inch groups with these in my smooth bore. There is zero damage to your bore because instead of lead, you just have a plastic sabot, much like a regular shot cup sliding down the barrel. I love these so much I bought 5 boxes at once because I sometimes hunt on a military base that is shotgun only. I use them for both deer and elk, but have not shot an elk yet with them.
