  • James, All sporting rifle barrels get hot. The barrel will be hot after 1 magazine. This is a quality barrel. The gas tube, gas block or muzzle device will fail before the barrel does. You would have to shoot thousands of rounds full auto to maybe damage barrel from heat. No worries.

  • If I put enough rounds, quickly enough, through my 10/22 the barrel gets uncomfortable to touch. Heavier round and more powder I can only speculate.

  • James, I have not have an overheating issue during regular semi-auto drills. Your result will depend on your rate of fire and duration of the same. If overheating is a concern, I would definitely go with a heavier barrel from the jump.
