Anyone know the difference between this and a 54125, when you take the breacher of the 54125 off? Same overall length it seems. I know the barrels are shorter, but not sure what other differences there would be.

You nailed it. Quite similar guns. Both drilled and tapped, both have dual extractors, both 6rds chambered in 3". Its all size differences in dimensions really.
