  • yes it is safe but will require a good cylinder cleaning after shooting the shorter 38 special due to the build up of a carbon ring making the longer 357 ammo hard to load. a good cleaning fixes this issue

  • Hello Robert... as others have noted the .38 special is an excellent choice and will operate with no issues in your .357 Uberti. Personally I have enjoyed handloading .38 special loads for use in a similar handgun made by EMF, the "Great Western II" 1873.
