Is it safe to fire 38 special?
Hello Robert... as others have noted the .38 special is an excellent choice and will operate with no issues in your .357 Uberti. Personally I have enjoyed handloading .38 special loads for use in a similar handgun made by EMF, the "Great Western II" 1873.
Oh, yes! If it can shoot a 357 it can handle 38 special and plus P ammunition. It was my pleasure to assist you.
Always safe to fire 38 special in 357 mag revolver.
Robert, absolutely Sir. The lower power 38 Special loads will fire without issue. Cheers and stay safe!

yes it is safe but will require a good cylinder cleaning after shooting the shorter 38 special due to the build up of a carbon ring making the longer 357 ammo hard to load. a good cleaning fixes this issue
