  • According to American rifleman "You can shoot.22 Shorts or other low-power loads in the Wrangler without have to worry about it failing to cycle"
On the Ruger forums they advise this about shooting 22 short out of any 22lr in general
"Shooting a steady diet of .22 Shorts will create a carbon ring where the mouth of the .22 Short cartridge case lets go of the bullet in the chamber. If that is allowed to build up in the chamber, then .22 Long rifle cartridges can become a bit more difficult to fully chamber. So, to prevent that carbon ring build up, after a couple of hundred rounds of .22 Shorts, scrub the chamber with a bronze brush and solvent, and then all will be well for ever after."

  • Chuck, yes Sir. This revolver is capable of firing 22LR, 22L and 22Short no issue. Cheers and Happy Holidays!

  • YES, Any revolver made for 22 LR ammo can also shoot 22 Longs or 22 Shorts. I hope this helps!
