I recently restored an old 1857 Zulu shotgun. I would never consider shooting any shot from it but am wondering if these are safe enough to give the old girl life again.

John, you will have no issues even in a much older gun Sir. Cheers and stay safe!

I don't think you will have any issue since its a blank round...the pressure is incredibly low. However, I highly recommend you to send your gun to a good gunsmith to check the shootability of your 1857 Zulu shotgun. They might need to do ultra sound to see if there any crack on it. I also want to make sure that this is converted to shoot 12 GA. I hope this helps!
