Les Baer PREM II 45AP 5B Tactical 1.5G - 8+1 Rounds, Wood Grips, Adjustable Sights

Let me start off by Saying Bud's made this purchase a pleasure.
The Les Baer Premier II is incredible. I could go on and on for several more sentences but the plain fact is, I'am simply awestruck by the beauty and precision of this firearm. For the price, there are none finer.
Period.
For the love of God, if you have the money, just buy it.

So far, so good. This Les Baer Premier II 1911 45 ACP with 1.5 inch guarantee is obviously a high quality gun. The first time I attempted to rack the slide, I couldn't do it and had to cock the hammer first. This gun is really tight. So much so, that I thought I would have problems getting it to cycle with some of my lighter load ammo. I also expected to have the occasional jam and failure to cycle during the break-in period as suggested by Baer. Contrary to that expectation, this gun has functioned flawlessly with all of my various reloads and commercial ammo. So far, I have put about 300 rounds through the gun, so I am still in the break-in period of 500 rounds. The gun is obviously more accurate than my Remington 1911 R1, but I have not yet tried it in my Ransom Rest. I have always liked 1911s because of their ergonomic and comfortable grip angle and because one can always get a good grip on the gun. The Baer provides an even better grip due to the unique and excellent stippling on the front and back of the grip, which makes it feel as though the gun is gripping the skin of your hand. There is no chance that this gun will ever slip or move around in your hand while you are shooting it. So far, I would rate this gun as pretty close to perfect. I will revisit this review after trying it in the Ransom Rest.

Buds again delivered with outstanding and prompt delivery within a couple of days. The Les Baer is of course a piece of art, a very well made 1911. I cannot say enough about Buds and Les Baer. The only downfall in this transaction was dealing with the FFL Windham Indoor Shooting Range in Maine. They removed the gun from it’s original paper wrap, threw that away, cleaned of all the oil Baer packs it in, then apparently passed the 1911 around the shop and most likely patrons to inspect it. The comments from the employees there on the fit and finish really left me feeling my $2200.00 weapon was violated. On top of that they hit me with a $60.00 transfer fee. Buds#1 Baer#1 Windham Indoor Shooting Range...never again!
