I really like the Liberty Civil Defense line of ammo. It shoots great with low recoil and great accuracy. It's pretty loud from a J-frame. The light weight bullets make for noticeably light carry weight in my 642 Airweight, revolver, perfect for EDC.

Once again I did my homework on these, but the one thing no one said was how much increase there is in the recoil. Liberty says that they are exiting the barrel at 1500 fps. I have been shooting handguns since 1983 and am a real fan of small grain bullets like the Winchester Supreme in 22 Magnum 34 grains which is very controllable as far as shot grouping goes. These were all over the place off the bags out of a 4 inch 686, could not get them to shoot a group at 20 yards. I have been doing my research on what factory ammo shoots best out of short barreled revolvers. Do the ammo manufacturers load and sell to hand gunners alone? My findings are the same as it was back in the 80's when I acquired a 7-30 Waters barrel for my T/C contender. The only available ammo was 120 grain JSP's loaded for a rifle except there weren't any rifles out at that time chambered in 7-30 Waters. They too were very difficult to group also. They are quite loud but leave very little residue. I won't be using these in a revolver any more. I did email Liberty before I got them from Bud's ( great Service as always). They contacted me and said they recommended them for deer hunting and to watch their video, which I did. Very impressive in the gel block(s). What they didn't say was what gun they used to launch the 50 grainer. Many readers well say that I should take up reloading, NO THANKS! My reloading days are over.
