I have seen several YouTube videos where the firing pins on the Stoeger Coach mushroom and fail, especially on the right side - this issue is causing doubt with me whether I should purchase this or not

Do shells need to be removed manually or does this model eject automatically when opening?

Hi Walentin, this gun has extractors. It does not totally eject the shells, but extracts them far enough that you can manually grab them. This saves you from having to pick them up off the ground. Stay safe & have a great day!

This model utilizes "Extractors". The shells will pop out enough to snag, grab & toss!!

Hi Walentin and welcome to the community. Yes, this model has extractors. Ejectors pop the shells completely out of the chamber when the action is opened. Extractors partially pushes the shell out enough for you to grab and pull out of the chamber. Ejectors are faster of course. Cheers and stay safe!

Kye, this gun has a 3" chamber, so you can shoot both 2 3/4" and 3" shells. The chokes are not removable, one barrel has a fixed improved cylinder choke and the other has a modified choke. Kye, no, this is a 3 inch chambered shotgun with Fixed IC & M choked barrels. The Single-Trigger Coach Gun ***Supreme*** 12-gauge and 20-gauge models come with improved cylinder and modified screw-in choke tubes and a choke wrench.

Kye, this has a 3 inch chamber so it can safely shoot 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch shells. This does not have removable chokes. One barrel had a fixed modified choke, and the other barrel has a fixed improved cylinder choke. Hope this helps.

Would this be able to do both deer slugs and bird shot like duck loads? What chokes are needed for this?

Grant, absolutely yes Sir. The Chokes are Fixed Improved Cylinder & Fixed Modified. You can fire Slugs through both barrels but will get slightly better slug accuracy through the Improved Cylinder barrel.

Based on the Old West stagecoach guard’s weapon of choice, Stoeger Coach Guns are short and handy and pack a potent punch. Originally developed as traditional, double-trigger models for Cowboy Action Shooters, the new single-trigger models with gold-plated triggers not only provide a competitive edge but will also serve as effective home security guns.

Stoeger Single-Trigger Coach Guns are chambered for 2¾- and 3-inch shells, in 12- and 20-gauge and are offered in blued finish with traditional satin-finished walnut stocks. The Single-Trigger Coach Gun Supreme features a blued finish with a corrosion-resistant, stainless steel receiver. The Supreme’s butt stock and beaver tail fore-end steps up to AA-grade American walnut with border-point checkering, and sports a recoil-reducing rubber butt pad. Very nice. It was tight as expected. If you want this for CAS, you will need to do some work to get it ready for competition. But the wood is really nice and it is very well made. I highly recommend.

I will give budsguns a 4.9*'s only because the stock had a few minor scratches, and a little welding or solder Flux under the barrel bottom rib. Other than that very satisfied with my purchase and the price and thank you Bud's for fantastic quick shipping, 3days!!! The 2 issue's are not bad enough to cancel transfer of which was done. Overall, very satisfied repeat customer. I have probably purchased 30 to 40 firearms from you over many years as well as ammo, magazines, etc. I will continue to buy from Budsguns as long as is possible. Two things I don’t like about this Stoeger…first it needs a better safety feature…the thumb activated safety doesn’t have any markings so you don’t really know if it’s in or off or how secure it is…a trigger lock safety would be better… Secondly for the price of this shotgun it has a cheap plastic butt plate…it should have been metal or rubber…

It’s exactly what I ordered. No frills nothing extra or fancy. Just a good old simple double barrel set up that can handle everything from #8 shot shells to 00 buck and 1oz. Slugs. This is my everyday carry gun in the mountains. Out here we’ve got everything from black bear to cottontails and this shotgun can handle it all.

Good day, I must say I was extremely ecstatic when I found the BUD'S online website. And with the opportunity to become a member is not only a plus. but a must If you're a person that has a need or want to purchase firearms online, and from being an out of state resident. I bought this shotgun just for cowboy action shooting. It is a tool I had to have to play the game. I'll start with what I like about this stoeger 12 gauge. Pros- it's affordable no frills business gun. - Fires every time no issues. - wood furniture is well made. - really it's the only shotgun I need for what I'm doing with it. Step up to the line and knock down a few targets. The Cons- Understand it's not a Thousand dollar gun. A friend let me handle one of his high dollar coach guns and there is a difference. The Stoeger is heavy. - The action is really tight. Will need some tuning. And keep in mind it may void the warranty depending on what you do like disabling auto safety. But hey it had to be done. Other than that I am very happy with it. I got her on Valentine's day so I named her Valentine. I hope this review helps someone in the decision process. Buds Gun shop team is very attentive to customers and will answer any questions you have.

Like my Uberti/Taylors '73 Winchester and Uberti Cattleman revolvers, I bought this coach gun for SASS cowboy action shooting. It's not a showhorse, it's a workhorse. The stock is beech, not walnut, and the lines aren't elegant. But it's reasonably priced, handles well, and sends lead shot downrange effectively. For SASS cowboy shooting, though, or even serious defensive use, it needs some fine-tuning. The good news is that two little changes can make this inexpensive workhorse a lot more slick and speedy. First, you need to polish the chambers so you can do fast reloads. This shotgun has extractors, not ejectors, which means a fired shotgun shell is lifted slightly out of the chamber when you open the breech, not thrown clear of the gun. When you need to do a fast reload, instead of picking the fired shell out with your finger, you want to be able to just give the opened shotgun a quick backward shove, and let inertia send the empties flying out. For this to work, the chambers must be slick and smooth (which is not how they come from the factory). The polishing is easy to do yourself, though, with no special tools or disassembly. This gun also has an automatic safety (meaning it automatically goes on 'safe' every time you close the action). While the safety is important to avoid unintentional discharges, if you need to reload and re-engage, not having to click off the safety for follow-up is faster and more efficient. Most cowboy action shooters modify the safety on this shotgun so it operates manually. HOWEVER - be aware that making that change voids Stoeger's warranty.
