Springfield Armory RO ELITE TARGET .45 ACP 5 - Blue/Black, 5" Barrel, 7+1 Rounds, Composite Grips, 3-Dot Sights

I just purchased a Springfield Armory Range Officer 1911 Elite Target from Buds. I am very, very satisfied with the service from Buds; and, would do business with them again w/o hesitation. I am also very, very happy with my new 1911. I am a retired Army officer, and also retired from the local Sheriff. Consequently, I have a lot of experience with pistols of all kinds. i had gotten away from the 1911s because I don’t like to carry cocked and locked, especially concealed, and striker fired pistols were more practical during my working career. Recently, I’ve gotten into a unique pistol competition where pin point accuracy is paramount. As good as my striker fired pistols are for self-defense, they were not adequate for this particular scenario. Before I made the purchase from Buds, I tried a number of different options but I was really impressed with a SA Range Officer in 9mm. It was a nail driver. So after trying a couple of Kimbers, a Remington R-1, and some very expensive specialty models used by my co-competitors, I decided to try an SA RO 1911 in .45 caliber. I’ve now put about 200 rounds through it, and it’s not entirely broken in yet, but it already is the best shooting, most accurate, 1911 I’ve ever shot. Buds gave me a very good value (about 70 bucks better than any local option, and at least a 100 bucks cheaper than the bigger stores here in Tampa). Even with the transfer fees, I came out ahead. Buds kept its promise and shipped the weapon to my local FFL Dealer expeditiously. So, I give both Buds and SA 5 of 5 stars.
