SAVAGE AXIS XP .270 22" 3-9x40 Matte/Camo Ergo Stock - Blue/Black, 22" Barrel, 4 Rounds, Synthetic, Mossy Oak Break-Up Country Stock

Purchased this as a lighter recoil alternative to my granddad’s hard hitting 30-06 rifle, initially rifle looks great, well built, the scope is basic which is to be expected with the price. The only con is, very heavy trigger pull, and very hard bolt cycling action. Knocking half star off for the hard trigger pull I addressed the hard trigger pull with a 1.5, 2.5, and 3.5lb kit. I tried each out and preferred 3.5 spring. The hard bolt action does knock out a full star. 3.5/5 but site only gives full stars so that leaves this gun with 3/5 rating officially bonestock as is. Nothing to take away from its ability to shoot flat, straight and group. Just need to find right ammo for it. Thankfully there are plenty of aftermarket options to upgrade this rifle into its full potential!

The gun itself is a very good shooting rifle, only dislike is it comes with the standard trigger that came at 3 1/2 pounds pull. I checked with Midway and they had a drop in Timney Trigger for $105. and it came set at 1 1/2 pounds. Now I have a great shooting rifle. Get the model with the acutrigger if you like a light trigger. And pull the scope off and level and tighten, I replaced mine with a Burris Droptine 4.5-14 that woks great with my 270 cal.
