What can you say about a 100.00 single shot shotgun? Totally worth it to me. Could care less about plastic stock furniture. Built like a tank as one would expect with single shot break barrel. Snapped up on sale. Short length and .410 is perfect for training youth, and quick handling. Very pleased as I knew what to expect. No issues with function or quality. Shoots great. 5 stars

I seldom make reviews because each person sees a gun completely different as to what they expected. But this Rock Island TK104 410 single shotgun is horrible. And this review is being made without ever firing the gun. Without mentioning the rust on load end of the barrel, The break release is very hard to pull. Cocking the hammer is extremely difficult. You better have a glove on to keep from cutting you finger. I have other older shotguns with hammers and I have never experienced anything like this. I purchased the gun to give my grandsons experience with a shotgun. They all three have a lot of experience with revolvers, pistols and rifles of all kinds. They are 12, 14 and 16 years old. Only the 16 year old could get the hammer back and he had to lay the gun on the bench and use 2 hands to do it. The break release is the trigger guard slides to release the break. At times it is so tight it takes an extreme pull to release it. Anyone who would have the chance to handle this gun before buying it would never purchase it. I have oiled and pulled the guard numerous times but it doesn't get easier and like I said at times it is like it is locked. I have operated the hammer numerous times and have left it in the cocked position since I got it to see if the spring steel would give a little but it hasn't. 1st thing everyone will say it needs to be broken in. Maybe that's true for the gun to become accurate etc but I can't see anyway this is going to get better. I have heard people say a gun needs 500 round thru it to become "Broke In" but running $500 ammo thru a $150 gun doesn't make cense. I could have purchased a Henry for that price. I know you get what you pay for is true, but I only wanted a gun to introduce shotguns to boys and assumed it would at least function. I have sent a couple emails to RIA asking about the issues and have never received a response. So all I can think is the gun is operating as designed. Bottom line do not purchase this gun if you can't handle it first.

I found it to be a good backup and easy to pack. The slugs do well thru it and I can dispatch about any animal with it. The 20" Cyl. barrel is not great for bird hunting but it will do in an emergency. I wish it had a scope rail on it I think a Red Dot would be great on this gun.
The slugs are easier to get than bird or buck shot now. And it is very accurate. It doesn't eject the spent shells so practice was necessary before taking it hunting.

have put target loads, and 000 buck through this little shotgun, fired both without issue, ejection is clean and easy, nice site and bead, accurate straight out of the box, i will purchase another one of these shotguns, my wife likes it and is proficient with it, very good value small bore shotgun, buds transaction and delivery was flawless.

I ordered the RIA TK104 for use as a stowaway backpack firearm and it did not disappoint. Not only is it extremely well suited for this purpose but my tiny wife handles it well due to the limited felt recoil and the overall simplicity of the breakopen single shot design. It's very well made for the money and is manufactured in Turkey. Definitely not junk as one might think. With both stock spacers removed and just the butt pad attached it fits perfectly folded in my backpack. I have put 2.5" & 3" #9, 8, 7 1/2, 6, 4, 00 & 000 buck, rifled slugs, an sabot slugs 30 yards down range on paper no problem with all different patterning. I'm really impressed. Not too shabby for a fixed slug choke. I think I'm going to try and take some quail with #8 with this shotgun and see how it does. For what it is ... a .410 with a 20" barrel ... its impressive. Excellent bugout bag survival weapon.
