Yes, this is a bolt action so they don't have the same strict laws as semi automatics. You will have to have buds remove the magazine, Wich it'll ask if you want to do at checkout. Then you'll have to purchase a state compliant 10 round magazine separately. Hope this helps.

Ruger Precision Rimfire 17HMR 18 15+1 Can the threaded 18” barrel, with a 1:9 rate of twist be changed to a threaded 20-24 inch barrel? If so, is a 1:9 rate-of-twist mandatory ,will the longer barrel (if applicable) affect accuracy and require a longer Handguard ?

Joseph, if the barrel is available, it would not have any adverse effects on accuracy and the handguard would not need changing unless you just want to. I would gather accurate barrel information directly from Ruger on barrel particulars at Telephone: 336-949-5200 Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm ET)

Shortly after picking up my Ruger precision .17hmr, I paired it with a vortex 3-9x50 and it’s an absolute tack driver. I do not see myself getting away from this slick little rifle!

Bud's was great to purchase from. The service is matched by noone. As for the rifle, I love it, except for the safety. It has not worked right since the day it got here. It will go into fire but will not go back into safe without messing with it for a while. I am confident that ruger will take care of it though. They have always been one of my favorite manufacturers. I wanted to put a match trigger in it, but would like to get it fixed, none the less. The rifle shoots great with 1 moa at 100 yards.

Excellent firearm......took a little bit for them to come back in stock....but Bud's notified me as soon as they came in..... very pleased...... accurate....well built....a win win for anyone looking for a precision rifle that you can afford to shoot
