[5 of 5 Stars!]This rifle DOES NOT have the Acutrigger! Please take note as add is deceptive. That being said, the price is competitive and the transaction went very well and fast from BUDs to my FFL. I will replace the scope with one of higher quality and magnification. I already had a standard model 64 and expect great things from the varmit version as well. Savage automatics are ammunition sensitive. Mine prefers copper coated bullets, rather than all lead. I seldom have any FTF or FTEs using Federal bulk ammo and higher end stuff.
I bought this rifle for my grandson to start perfecting his long range skills with a .22 at 100 yard on reduced size targets, once we get a better scope mounted we will start breaking it in. I just wished it had come with an acutrigger, but the one it came with has decent take-up and breaks clean and fairly light for a factory trigger, definitely worth the money, even without the acutrigger.

[5 of 5 Stars!]No doubt that this is an excellent rifle for the money. I cut 4 out of 6 center circles on NRA A-38 small bore rifle target at 50 ft. after sighting it in. The other two shots were just off center and I suspect the shooter more than the gun or cheap ammo I was using. When I first started sighting it in, I shot 4 rounds and thought I had lost two of them off the paper, but looked more closely and found that three shots had hit the same spot! Could not tell it with my spotter scope at all.Show More Reviews...
