Colt Close Quarters Battle 7+1 .45 ACP 5" - 5" Barrel, 7+1 Rounds, Composite Grips, Night Sights

As usual, Buds did an excellent job on their part. A service all the way. The M45A1 I got came in a blue case with a target as expected. The days of getting the custom pelican case are gone. The gun looks amazing. The black on grey is just a fantastic combo in my opinion. The gun is built like a tank and shoots very smooth. It isn't as smooth as a Wilson but it didn't cost as much either. I would put the action on par with my high end "custom shop" Kimber. If this was the end of the review it would be 5 stars but it isn't. The thumb safety is not at all close to where it should be. There is too much slop when sweeping the safety off and it over travels. I would expect this on a much much cheaper gun but not a Colt, not a M45A1, and certainly never on a custom shop Colt M45A1. I wanted so badly to overlook this minor detail (after all, it doesn't affect the operation of the gun) but I paid $2000 for this because I wanted a perfect top end Colt .45 to add to my collection. A collection of .45's without a Colt is an incomplete collection in my opinion. If I had it to do all over again I would probably save the extra money and get an off the shelf M45A1, at least that way they would have some excuse for it not being perfect.

Great weapon at a great price thanks to Buds Gun Shop once again!!! The Colt Custom Shop did not disappoint! These Colt Marines are very nice weapons. I trust to carry a production model everyday at work, never a failure in any of my Colt Marines. This model has the front strap checkering but no longer does it come with the Colt Pelican Case. You do still have the test target and proof it came from the Custom Shop

Fun pistol to have because the finish & appearance is so different from the normal Colt. Low recoil, very accurate. Supposedly the same pistol issued to the Marines. It arrives in a pelican case with 2-Wilson Combat 7-round magazines (that take a little breaking-in) and a test target. The accuracy is supposed to be 1.5" group at 25-yd using a bag rest. I'm not even close to being that good of a shot. This pistol goes through the Colt custom shop for "critical part mating". And it is smooth and fits perfectly. The case and custom shop are the only difference between this model and the model O1070M45 which costs about $340 less. But the pelican case is awesome and contains an Otis cleaning kit (branded with COLT logo). Kind of pricy, but all and all - really cool pistol; I will enjoy this for ever. I'm not giving this one to my nephew!
