I love the stock more than anything about it. The huge straight pistol grip is so nice for precision shooting. So far it does not group like some of my other precision rifles, but I’ve done some handloading and it’s improving. But man that walnut target stock! It’s worth it even if I replace the barrelled action. I’m keeping it a long time

The CZ 557 is not a rifle to be shouldered lightly! That's because it weighs about twelve pounds, scoped and loaded! Mine arrived pretty quickly from Bud's, and I couldn't wait to shoot it. It's everything I was hoping for when I ordered it - relatively inexpensive, solidly made, and extremely accurate. Initial factory rounds shot into two inches at 100 yards, but a little experimentation helped me find loads that grouped a full ten round clip into an inch! By the third range outing, I was stretching targets out to 300 yards, and outshooting my Buddy and his .224 Valkyrie Browning Hell's Canyon and its $2000.00 scope. My CZ is topped with a Burris Signature 3 x 9 x 40 that I've had for many years, which probably set me back $250.00 back in the day. If there's an issue with this rifle, it's that it is very picky about cartridge length - but half the fun of shooting is figuring out such details, and shooting some more!
