[5 of 5 Stars!]I have wanted a Henry rifle ever since the first time I saw one, and even more so after I held it. I finally purchased one when Buds got the .357 Magnum Henry Big Boy in stock. I waited anxiously and it arrived today at my local FFL. I inspected it and it is everything I expected. It is packaged in the box, wrapped with moisture absorbing paper, and has a protective cloth sleeve covering the brass to prevent scratches. After checking to see that it was not loaded, I looked at the walnut stock. It is one of the nicest pieces of walnut that I have seen on a gun... dark, figured, smooth, and scratch free. It is a hefty gun, very solid, with a smooth action. The brass is polished to a shine. The octagon barrel is evenly blued. The loading tube is tight, but not too tight... it is just perfect and does not rattle around.
After getting it home it was getting late, but there was just enough light to take a few shots into my target berm. I loaded up four .38 Special cartridges, worked the action and chambered a round, and pulled the trigger. I did not note the feel of the trigger, but it certainly did not feel bad. The rifle gave a small report and a tiny kick (about the same as a .22, due to the mass of the gun). I paused then fed in another round... it chambered smoothly. I fired the remaining three shots quickly without lowering the rifle. All three fired flawlessly. I did not check accuracy, but I expect that it will outshoot my poor eyes.
To summarize: this rifle is beautiful, it is entirely made in the USA, and it functions perfectly. This is everything I expected from my first Henry!Show More Reviews...
