I agree with Ed C get something set up the way you want it. If you want to customize a tactical shotgun get a Mossburg 500 and go crazy

Buy something with an adjustable butt stock. It will be cheaper and less aggravation in the long run.

I cant recommend anything for the 12 gauge without knowing what you want to do with it but In general home defense use Buckshot, Deer use Buckshot/slugs, Bird hunting use shot sizes to match the gamebird you are hunting. Trap/skeet shot sizes 7.5 8 or 9. Waterfowl require the use of non lead shot so you would need steel shot or heavishot. for most of my shotshells I watch for sales at local stores like (S)eild and (f)tream swap the s and f
