The Ruger Mark IV Rimfire Pistols have the classic look of the Mark III with a simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field stripping. A recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools. The bolt simply slides out of the receiver and the barrel can be properly cleaned from chamber to muzzle. The MKIV includes other significant improvements such as a one-piece grip frame that is precision CNC-machined from a solid piece of  alloy steel; an ambidextrous manual safety and a redesigned bolt stop for more ergonomic operation. The magazine drops free on release for faster reloads and a redesigned magazine disconnect safety prevents discharge when the magazine has been removed. Internal improvements include changes to the hammer, sear, bolt and firing pin for smoother, more reliable feeding. Specific features vary by model, but the legendary, one-piece barreled receiver and internal cylindrical bolt construction remain the same. The robust design ensures permanent sight-to-barrel alignment and higher accuracy potential than conventional moving-slide designs. Includes two 10-round magazines.

This handgun is a simple joy. It looks great and it works well. Very easy field-strip process makes for easy maintenance. The grip is apparently modeled after 1911 45 caliber handguns, which is where the '45' in '22/45' comes from. Very comfortable. One of the best features is magazine ejection. Pressing the mag release button launches the ballistic magazine missile. I am fairly confident that ejecting the magazine at someone in self-defense is a viable back-up weapon. This being the tactical model, it is hot-rodded with picatinny rail sections up top and down below, 1/2" by 28 threaded barrel, and of course comes in tasteful and tactical black hues. It is made to be tricked out with your choice of red dot optics, laser/light, and suppressor. Go nuts, I did. The only drawback is that you have just ten rounds.

Excellent quality pistol that is fun and cheap to shoot. Buds has the best prices around,, and great discounts for military. I have purchased several firearms from them, as their prices and service are the best!

Always great quality from Ruger. Shoots great and the mark IV design makes it so much easier to disassemble than previous generations

A go to for archery season, I keep the piece with a x300 and suppressor in my hunting bag all season. Mostly for rattlesnakes and small pests. Total effective and will not blow a hunting set shooting subsonic suppressor. Slip a thumb over the bolt and it's bb gun quiet.

Love the gun. After installing a Volquartsen trigger kit, it has a light but crisp trigger and shoots great!

Always wanted a Ruger 22 BUT didn’t want to mess with their complicated breakdown. The MK 4 changes this. Great shooting pistol that is easy to clean. Will feed anything. At some point I will get a suppressor for it.

Bud's shipped my 22/45 quickly and maintained great communication throughout. They were also far cheaper than any of the local gun shops here in San Antonio. As for the Ruger itself, it's very similar to my old MkII, just with a far more natural grip angle, hassle-free disassembly, and the obvious accessory-friendly rails and threaded barrel. It is, however, in desperate need of a better trigger. Despite the long, creepy and heavy pull, it still shoots 1" groups with plinking ammo from a red dot at 25 yards. I'm sure with match ammo and a better trigger it's capable of tighter groups. I will say that I have experienced some failures to chamber the Remington Yellow Jackets due to the excessive wax buildup or lead burrs on a lot of the rounds. It took me a minute to figure out what was happening. Sometimes, either the hammer would not drop (acting like it was on 'Safe') or I would get light strikes from the bolt not interfacing completely with the chamber, leaving a small gap. Maybe Ruger needs to give the MkIV a forward assist? But seriously, I guess it's the price you pay for very tight tolerances. The only real fix is to shoot higher grade ammo. Still a great, accurate little pistol.

Great Little Target pistol. Excellent grips, a little over kill with the 1913 rails but I guess Ruger said “Why Not?”. Getting four stars as it has jammed a few times. Could’ve been the ammo, but .22 blow back should just eat.

At long last Ruger has made a pistol that is a pleasure to break down and clean!

I am a 30+yr gun collector. I love the Rugers Mk series I own every Mk pistol to date.I collected every color of the LITE and I buy 1 or 2 extra of all Mk series to shoot the rest I just collect. I also buy doubles or triples of the same model to mod with Pac Lite uppers etc. The Ruger mk series speaks for itself the are some of the most accurate and reliable non match type .22LR Pistols in history. The Tactical series is no exception. It eats any ammo I feed it from lite to heavy grained bullets, HP's, HVHP, subsonics and coated or non coated bullets. The pistol is also very accurate, points nicely and feels perfect in the hand especially with 22/45 grip. This and or all Mk's are great suppressor hosts (I only use threaded ones) with my ACC, Dead Air, Griffen and other .22 and 5.56 cans, the gun is so quiet all you hear is the action moving. I use mostly Trijicon RMR's on most if not all my hand guns along with some T1 or T2 micro's. But even with irons the gun is very accurate. Also magazines are inexpensive and plentiful. The takedown on the MKIV is the biggest change for earlier models. Its simply a one button push, the upper hinges off and the bolt slides out. Much easier than the MKIII etc. I highly recommend this legendary handgun. You won't be sorry! Disclaimer: Yes I copy/paste with some edits to some guns of the same type to save time and typing. But I assure you I am a real person, I do not work for Buds and I do own everything that has been reviewed by me. : ) Ive have been a Buds customer and TB member for 13+yrs and have bought over a half century of guns from just Buds alone. I do shop and buy firearms from other shops as well. But Buds is one of my favorites out of a very few online gun shops. I like the selection, prices and best of all the CS is stellar. If you are new to Buds no worries even when you have a problem they will take care of it. Again do not work here. ; ) Stay safe people!
