My SD 40, I love this gun. I have heard it said that this was the cheaper version of an M&P, or the cheaper version of a Glock... I've shot both the Glock in 40 Smith & Wesson and I've shot an M&P in 40 Smith & Wesson, and the SD 40 shoots even better in my humble opinion. I think it's the really aggressive grip texturing that helps eat up the recoil far better than it does on the Glock or the M&P. Finally I've heard other folks complain about the trigger. It is not a match grade trigger, but I don't think it's supposed to be. This gun was not bought as a competition gun, this gun was bought to be a carry gun in situations where I wanted a little more than a 9mm. Some of the places where my wife and I hike there is the possibility of wildcats, cougars, alligators, and occasionally even black bears. I find having a 40 cal is a little more comforting when I know that the predators may have more than two legs. I think the SD 40 is a perfect affordable woods carry gun east of the Mississippi.

Awesome pistol fit and finish perfect, fits my hand like a glove, perfect for every day carry, after a trigger upgrade it'll be perfect, glad I made the purchase

I just had to get this gun. Not bad on the wallet either. Love how it feels in my hands. I've put 200 rounds through it and no problems. Bud was great as usual.

As always Buds service is amazing. I love the gun overall. I put a couple hundred rounds through it no jams or problems. The hard plastic grip rubs your uncomfortably after shooting for to long. Love the gun overall and will practice with it more

Smith & Wesson's M&P 40c, subcompact, is perfect for my concealed carry/self defense requirements. Hi capacity, well made, reliable semi auto with manual safety and good trigger. I carry with the standard mag, very little imprint and I can handle the pistol very well without the extended mag. It shoots all types of factory ammo. I use Federal 180gr HST JHP for self defense. Buds has been so great in all of my purchases from them.

Only complaint is the trigger, very long travel and gritty feel from plastic. Very smooth feel, no issues on cycle, shoots as expected otherwise. I would recommend heavy dry cycling to break in trigger asap.
