Gun is pretty good but they send tha wrong magazine whith it on tha 38 super

Firearm was received by me through the FFL with no hitches. All went smooth. Pistol looks beautiful. Installed new grips and I love the .38 Super caliber. It looks like it came right out of the 1930's. Thanks one and all.

I've been wanting this ria 38 super in nickel for a long time now. Buds was the only place that was selling for around 600 dollars. Everyone else wanted 850 dollars at local shops. I love the finish and fit of the pistol. It fires like a dream. It fictions very well eats up the ammo i buy and reload. I will be buying from buds gun shop again soon. Thank you Buds.

Not happy with quality of firearm. Would expect more for the money. Won’t be buying Rock Island again.
1. Bad sights. Front sight not centered on slide, rear sight to small.( should have just filed a grove on the slide and call it a sight)
2. Junk magazine. Came damaged. Follower jams in magazine, doesn’t allow slide to be cycled with it in firearm empty.
3. Magazine catch release binds, takes over amount of force to operate . ( almost a 2 hand job.)
4. Grips big and bulky, to thick for size of firearm.
5. Very rough barrel crown.
Have not live fired yet. Waiting for new magazines!

I absolutely love the Rock island 38 super shoots very well and I love the chrome finish buds did great fast shipping overall very satisfying dealing with buds. I would recommend them.

This gun looks great and shoots great as well. Suprisingly accurate. 100 rounds put through it so far and no jams or FTFs. Ordered some flashy gold and silver grips for it to make it my inexpensive little pimp gun.

I love this gun. I picked up my RIA 38 super today and took it out to the range this morning. My first three shots at 15 yards fit in a quarter sized area. Wow! I have never been this accurate with any of my other pistols. I stepped over to the 25 yard range and my first shot was within one inch of the tiny bullseye. When I originally ordered my Rock Island from Buds I made and mistake and thought I was ordering a 45ACP 1911. I hadn't ever heard of the 38 super round and trying to cancel the order but it had already shipped. I'm so glad I ended up with this caliber after I did some research. It's a great round and my range stocks it at a price of only $20 per box. The Fit and finish are absolutely beautiful. Several people at the range wanted to check it out. I put some diamond checkered grips on the gun for a better hold and I'm very happy with this purchase. Did I mention that I love this gun? Joe F.

This is my first experience with Bud's or ordering a firearm all together...First off I would like to say Buds was great and speedy...It took 7 business days to deliver. This is a nice, fun gun...shoots easy.. didn't have any trouble with the stock magazine. I will be using Bud's againin the near future.

this is my first 1911 i like the gun it is a very solid gun works and shoots great had to buy a new clip i got a mck clip stainless the clip that comes with the gun would cause the gun to not load the next round about every five shots the new clip stoped that i would definitely buy another one.

The pistol came with one 9 round Colt magazine in a blue finish. I bought 2 extra mags, I got the 9 round metal form magazines for $15 a piece and they work great. The first thing I did was take this baby apart and clean off all the grease and oil it up. Once I did that it felt a lot better than when I was inspecting it at my FFL. I took it to the range a couple of days later and this gun is ACCURATE. I know all guns are generally accurate but this thing will make an amateur feel accurate. At 10 meters I was hitting a small paper target with nice tight groupings dead center. At 15 meters I was still scoring a hit for every round but my groupings could use some work. I shot 150 rounds of Magtech 38 super ammo and American Eagle. Not one FTE or FTF. The only problem I had was with the Colt magazine that the pistol came with. It had trouble chambering the first round every time. The 2 metal form magazines worked perfect though. I like them better too since the metallic finish matches the chome finish of the pistol a lot better. Anyways after I cleaned the Colt mag and even oiled it up a bit it & it seemed to start working ok. I recommend that you oil your magazine springs a bit and keep them fully loaded an entire day before shooting your gun. This will stretch the springs out and make them more reliable. At $432 this gun is a steal. If you're on the fence about this I say go for it. For anyone that says 38 super ammo is hard to come by or expensive just look online. Its readily available there and at good prices. I do recommend you buy metal form magazines for this gun just to have spares in case that Colt mag gives you trouble. Rock Island Armory may not have the high reputation that Colt or Kimber 1911s have but this baby sure feels like one of them. Buds was great, it took 2 and a half weeks from the day i ordered this gun until I got it. I know they're in the middle of enlarging they're shipping warehouse so I understand the delay. Will definitely buy from here again.
