This rifle is a match for my son’s 3006. We love both of them much more accurate than I am at 70, but I can still get close at 100 yards

Great Price and its a solid shooter. Purchased this rifle simply to deer hunt Northeast PA, with my wife. So my life as a bowhunter is over, glad I have a rifle I can depend on in the big woods. Might even use it for bear season if I don't tag out in the archery season. Shipping was fast and the customer service at Bud's was outstanding. Thanks everyone. Will buy again and again!

5 stars for Buds, 4 stars for Ruger, equals 4.6, so 4 stars overall. Paid by money order. took a few days, but less than a week for the money order to get there and get processed. one day to process, and shipped in about 17 hours to western NC! went out about 8pm on Monday night, arrived at my transfer dealer at noon the next day, picked up at 1pm. great shipping! Great Price! Great communication from Buds on the shipping. emails kept me up to date great. About the gun! Love the look. the cammo pattern looks good, not that gaudy, not as gaudy as the pic looks. should be fine in the NC hardwoods. scope mounts fine, mounted my Tasco World Class Plus 3x9 on it with weaver rings. bore sighted this am, and all went fine. haven't sighted it in yet though. recoil very manageable for me. saw some people commenting on harder than average recoil, but I have shot a lot of .300, .338 and .450 over the last ten years and this gun is kitten beside those monsters! Trigger was very nice. Before I mounted the scope, I took the stock off (more on that later) and I sprayed the trigger mechanism thoroughly with Gunscrubber. Then cleaned the entire gun, the bore being very oily. Lots of Oil on the gun. after basic cleaning, sprayed the whole thing down thoroughly with Gunscrubber. Worked great. clean rifle and I think it probably removed any grit from the trigger group because the trigger was pretty smooth when I boresigted. at least as good as if not better than my 700 ADL. Now the one bad thing. The free floating stock was not free floating. Noticed it before I signed for it. It was warped slightly to the right, so the left side of the stock was touching the barrel at the end of the forearm. Rather than bitch, since it is a "cheap" gun, I took it home with a plan. when I was cleaning it all out, I went and got the dremel tool and a grinder bit, then ground off about 2-3mm of plastic for the first three inches of the foream left side. that did the trick. now fully free floating. the grinding is not noticeable unless you look close as it is on the inside of the stock. Overall, another excellent Buds experience (my third or fourth- I've lost track) and I think a nice little rifle for the NC mountains. I'll post back with sighting in info later. Planning on handloading 165 gn hpbt's for it. Great Buds, Good Ruger.
