Bushnell Deep Space Reflector 525x3

This is a toy. Understanding that and at under $50, it entertains those it is intended to entertain. It is a fixed mirror telescope so it cannot track objects as they move through the night sky. It must be realigned every few minutes. I have only used it to view the moon which moves out of view within 15 minutes. I found the small sighting scope on the side to be a challenge to use but it functioned and sighted the main scope when I got a little bit of the hang of it. It is well packaged, fairly easy to assemble and has usable instructions. You usually get what you pay for and it is true in this case.

This is my first telescope and though it may be considered at the entry level for telescopes, you need to follow the instructions and it possible, have somebody with you who has done this before. It takes some practice to acquire an object in short order. Appears to be well made, and attractive, for the price.

Fast shipping and processing as always, this item is a mixed bag. I had hoped for more but you do get what you pay for. If you get this expecting it to perform like high end models you will be disappointed, the tri-pod is a bit shaking and it’s not the easiest thing to align. However, for the price it’s a very nice telescope, the images come in clear, the focus works well and the lenses are clear. I’d buy it again at this price to play around with. I have seen lots of very negative reviews online for this, and can only assume they expected the quality you get from the 3-400 models.

I purchased this telescope for a friend who was looking for a decent telescope as a present for his grandchildren. He's a long time amateur astronomer and he was surprised at the excellent quality of this scope.
