This has a 16 inch barrel with 1:9 twist rate. So this should work well with lighter grain ammo. My 1:9 twist does 40-55 grain ammo very well but once I hit around 62 grain ammo accuracy starts decreasing. Hope this helps.

Does this Del-Ton have a manual lever safety?

Yes, this has a manual safety on the left side. You can easily swap it out for an ambidextrous safety if you so choose to. Hope this helps

The barrels chambered for 556 so this can safely shoot both 223 or 556. Barrels stamped with 223 can only shoot 223. But this one's stamped 556 so it can do either. Hope this helps.
