I want to start by saying that Bud's has always been a great company to deal with and the negative comments I make are NOT a reflection of Bud's service.
I have not yet had a chance to shoot this revolver, but having a lot of experience with Uberti and Pietta revolvers I think this is a wonderful revolver NOW THAT I FIXED IT.
When I received this revolver, I found that it would fail to lock completely back about every 5th or 6th time I cocked it. When this happened, I found that the trigger would engage the hammer only if I pushed the trigger forward while holding the hammer back. I was puzzled by this, so I removed the grip and then the trigger guard to expose the trigger/bolt spring. This semi-custom gun comes with a highly reliable Wolff wire trigger/bolt spring rather than the original flat spring that breaks so often. I was appalled to see that the trigger leg of the spring was bent inward so that it barely contacted the ledge on the trigger and every now and then would it slip off of the trigger creating the condition I described.
I have several Wolff trigger/bolt springs in my toolbox and rather than re-bend an already bent and somewhat mangled spring, I simply replaced it and bent the hook on the end to ensure full engagement on the trigger ledge. Problem solved. I've since cocked it 200 times without fail and the release is clean and (not excessively) light.
For me, this was a relatively easy fix, but what about the buyer who's never worked on these revolvers? Does that buyer have to send it back to Uberti and wait for weeks to get a ten-minute repair accomplished? Uberti really needs to take a hard look at whoever is assembling these otherwise wonderful revolvers. Were it not for this, I would not hesitate give this revolver a full five stars.
p.s. I have a picture of the bent spring before I removed it if Bud's want to contact me for it.

Have made several purchases from Bud's over the last year. As always they have provided top notch firearms and service! Shipping has been fast, usually less than a week for delivery to my FFL. About the Uberti El Patron, It is beautiful. The web picture doesn't do it justice. The case hardened finish is nice and polished as well. Blueing is perfect on my pistol. The El Patron has wolf springs and a super nice trigger with perfect timing and good solid lock up on every chamber. Took it to the range for test firing and it shoots very accurate, used .357 mag, .38 special +P hollow points and .38 special ammo. All were on target at 25 yards. At 15 yards, hit bullseyes over and over. The balance and feel of the pistol is awesome. The lowered hammer is nice too. If you want a cowboy gun and can't afford a Colt, this is the way to go, especially since it's about 1/4 the cost of a Colt! I picked the .357 mag over the .45 long Colt due to ammo costs. Ran 100 rounds of ammo through the gun and it is a real fun shooter. Will purchase another real soon.

This is the El Patron Competition model with the lowered hammer.
The Uberti El Patron competition model arrived at my FFL in perfect condition. With perfect bluing, perfectly checkered grips, and beautiful case coloring. The action was really smooth and had roughly a 3 pound trigger pull. It shoots poa at 25 yards with standard 158 grain magnum loads. I much prefer this gun to my first Uberti (nickeled .45 LC), and can see this one getting more action. Based on this gun, and my previous Uberti. I would not hesitate to buy more.

Fit and finish is absolutely beautiful!! As far as shooting, it is so extremely accurate. This is my first uberti and I will buy many more. It really is high quality. Smooth trigger, nice solid clicks on the cylinder, and hammer is easy to get ahold of. If you are wondering if it has 4 clicks on the hammer when you cock it back like the colts have. Sorry to say it doesn’t. But other than that I am super happy with this firearm!! And as far as the safety in the hammer with this new design. You can’t even tell.

Screws loosened incredibly fast, had to tighten all of them four times a day, The loading gate would fall free, finally sent it back to the manufacturer to get it fixed after they said they would fix it in 6 days, no they are saying 45 days. Will not be buying any more Ubertis.

This was my first time getting a gun off Buds, very simple transaction and the gun arrived at my FFL dealer in 3 days from the day I ordered it. The gun that was sent was correct and I have Zero issues with Buds and will be using them again for my gun purchases. If it’s your first time and you are a little hesitant, don’t be. Let Bud’s show you what they are capable of, you won’t be disappointed! Now for the gun. The gun is awesome, looks great, finish is beautiful, and fit is perfect. The trigger is really light weight with zero creep, lock up is tight and this thing is just amazing. This is a very accurate pistol, shooting light weight 38’s or full house 357 magnums. This is a very accurate, reliable firearm that is a beautiful specimen that represents a piece of American firearms history. If you are in the market for a Single Action, pick up one of these, you won’t be disappointed. Just so you are aware, there is one thing with this particular part number from Uberti that is not mentioned in the description on Buds or found on the manufactures web site. I tried to look up this part number and Uberti’s web page and I couldn’t find it, though it may be a special production for authorized dealers. The feature that was not listed in the item description is that this specific gun has the Cattleman II firing pin. That means that the firing pin on the hammer is not fixed, it is retractable and is actuated by the trigger. This does add a level of safety to the firearm, but does detract a little bit if you are expecting a fixed firing pin. What I can tell you is do not let the retractable/trigger actuated firing pin keep you from purchasing this gun. It’s still works exactly the same, shoots fine and does not detract at all from the function of the pistol at all. I was a little surprised when I discovered the Cattleman II firing pin, but once I learned on the firing line that the gun functions exactly the same as a regular fixed pin, no issues at all with firing or speed... it is a non-issue. I just wanted to let everyone know about this as it was not in the description and to let you know not to let that keep you from purchasing this fine piece of Italian Iron! Great gun from Uberti, and great service from Bud’s... both greatly exceeded my expectations and I will be getting more Uberti products from Buds in the near future!
