quality seems to be there I only have 250 rounds down the pipe and out of the 250 had over 20 light primer strike's.
the firing pin spring is way to heavy and I tried magtech ammo/ hornady ammo and some of my reloads.
the other issue is when I cleaned the gun after coming home from the range the white paint on the rear sight came
off using just ballistol so I'll have to dress that also.
the gun is very accurate and recoil with he heavy barrel very manageable .

If you're looking for a single action 1911 in 10mm, this should be your purchase. 1911's aren't my first love, (but I do like them). This firearm performs flawlessly. I've shot 185 gr hollow points up to 230 gr round nose. Only approx. 250 round through this firearm, but no failures at all. I installed Pachmayr wrap around grips with no finger grooves. Probably one of the most comfortable firearms to hold. If available, do not hesitate to purchase, not disappointed at all. Bud's was flawless. I purchase from Grab-A-Gun, Classic Fire arms, P.S.A, and others. Bud's is as good as it gets.

Great pistol. A bit particular on the ammunition you feed it but overall it’s a great value. I really like the 1911 10mm platform. I am somewhat tall 6’4” so carrying it conceal is not a problem I have a great IWB Leather Holster That works well with this firearm. I would recommend this RIA firearm without hesitation. Great buy. By the way I am a retired Army Officer with three combat tours and I would carry this as a sidearm on the battlefield.

Extremely accurate 10mm. I did have a problem with some of the factory loads with hard primers as I was getting light primer strikes but others shot well. It did throw brass into the next county when they ejected them. I replaced the recoil spring with a 24# recoil spring ( my choice in order to knock down throwing brass so far away and I can shoot heavier grain bullets this way ) I also changed out the firing pen spring with a Wilson Combat titanium spring and it stopped the light primer strikes period. This thing runs like a sewing machine now and is a lot of fun to shoot and as said. It Is Accurate !!! Worth every penny !!

This is my first Rock Island Armory pistol but after receiving it , it wont be my last. A good quality made product at a great price. Fit and finish are great for a handgun in this price range and functions great. A definite buy for someone looking for a handgun in this price range.

This is a tank... and extremely fun to shoot for any 10mm enthusiast all around. This is by far my favorite 10mm I own. I'm going to carry this... run everything I've got though it... and carry it some more. Accurate is not even a question.

Let me start by saying the gray finish on this gun is very nice as are the black accents, however the black parts will show wear alot especially the barrel. Anyways, For the price, it is going to be hard to beat this handgun. Rock island has really done well with the tactical II in 10mm. The finish is good, the fit is tight and excellent, and its smooth. The trigger is good and the pistol comes with alot of features for the price. As far as reliability, 1911s tend to be finicky when it comes to ammo (even more so in 10mm models), I took this handgun straight out of the box and fired 270 rounds, 10 180 gr federal trophy bonded jsp, 10 200 gr underwood hornady xtps, 50 180 gr ppu jhp, and 200 sellier and bellot 180 gr fmj. I had a few stoppages the first few magazines of fmj, but after those I had no stoppages with any ammo for the rest of the rounds EXCEPT the 180 gr trophy bonded jsp. It hated those and jammed every other round.(theyre nose is very flat so im not overly suprised). As far as accuracy, the pistol shoots very good. Not as good as my Smith and Wesson 1006, but better than my glock 20. (They all shoot excellent though, this isnt a knock to my glock 20 its also a very accurate handgun) recoil is mild and very controllable so long as your used to shooting 10mm. It recoils more than my 1006, but less than my glock 20. I recommend finger groove grips. I also forgot to mention, the recoil spring is heavy and the chamber is fully supported among other things, so this is a good 1911 to have if you plan on firing full loads right out of the box. All in all, I think this is a great handgun for someone who wants a 10mm in a 1911. Expecially for the price. Only big complaint: Take down is a pain and it only comes with 1 magazine. (I just bought mec gar mags for 16 bucks and they work great.) Overall good job to rock island and thanks to buds.

Keep in mind I only have a hundred or so rounds through this gun, and my only real 1911 frame of reference is an STI Edge in 9mm. Having said that I love it. It is not an STI, but my other pistol is a g34 that I put together from Lone Wolf and Zev parts on a Timberwolf frame. Totally different creature. This obviously has some more boom than a poly 9mm but it is nowhere near what I was expecting, quite manageable. We're still in break in and while I wouldn't call it flawless, I am very happy with it considering it is not broken in, I'm using the OEM mag, and the cheapest ammo I could find. Also of note, although I don't know that there are any left - the finish is very nice on the Lipsey's edition I got. I think I have the 1911 bug now. Excited to shoot it some more. Amazing what you can get for your money from RIA.
