Remington 870 Express CMB 12 23/28 Synthetic DLR - Blue/Black, 4+1 Rounds, Synthetic, 3" Chamber, Fixed Stock

This Shotgun has been my "go to" for limited shotgun season for Sika Deer, and I have been successful with it each year since purchasing it. I have the rifled slug barrel paired with a vortex red dot sight, which was a breeze to setup and sight in. My other barrel is paired with a tight turkey choke and has taken several turkeys each year as well. This shotgun is literally the do all shot gun. I'm pretty happy with this purchase.

Bought this shotgun from Bud’s four years ago. This thing is a beast. The only modification made was the addition of a Super Cell recoil pad on day one. You can shoot trap all day, dusting clay after clay, and feel no pain. 3” magnum rounds when duck and goose hunting are very manageable as well. However, deer hunting with slugs through the cantilever barrel is a punishment. Hornady SST’s are as straight as a laser beam through this barrel but watch out when you are dialing in your scope. Bringing a friend to spread out the punishment will help! Love this firearm and I’ll keep it for my son when he eventually joins us at duck camp. My only two complaints are that the magazine cap sometimes vibrates loose which always seems to occur when a group of ducks fly into our decoys. This results in a frustrating failure to fire so I’m constantly tightening it down every ½ hour or so, just to make sure it hasn’t loosened. A new cap may fix the issue, I just haven’t ordered one yet. The other thing that I never read while researching the 870 is the finish. I pamper my firearms and keep them extremely clean and well oiled but when I’m out in my waders, in rain and snow, you can watch the receiver and barrel rust in front of you. Literally only hours of moisture will start the process. I found that cleaning all parts with isopropyl alcohol and then rubbing with steel wool will remove the rust and pitting. Then, just paint on some Super Blue and you’re all set—good as new (until it rains again). Do not store in the basement!

This is a great gun. comes with sling, plug, and attachable fiber optic sites! comes with one mod rem choke. Great and fast service. No problem for buds. Just like any new gun remember to clean well and take apart and oil the inside. I love my 870
