Hi Thomas, as a fellow NJ resident, I can unequivocally say yes, you can have a pistol grip on a AR15 in NJ. (I actually own this exact model) You are allowed 1 'Evil Feature', which is the pistol grip. You can not additionally have an adjustable stock, threaded barrel, flash hider, bayonet lug, or grenade launcher. As long as the barrel is non threaded and the stock is fixed, it is NJ legal. Hi Thomas and welcome. Yes Sir, a Pistol Grip is legal. It is the combination of two or more restricted features that make an AR Rifle restricted in NJ. For rifles with a detachable magazine you cannot posses more than one item from a list of features including a telescoping stock, pistol grip, bayonet lug, flash suppressor, threaded barrel, or grenade launcher (law written by very ignorant people). Alan, correct, you can fire 223 and 5.56 threw a firearm chambered in 5.56 NATO. Since 5.56 has a higher chamber pressure you can't shoot it threw a 223 though. So can only shoot 223 threw a firearm chambered in 223 rem. You also have a chambering called 223 Wylde Wich can also shoot 223 and 5.56 though. Hope this helps.

Alan, this is correct Sir. A Rifle chambered in 5.56NATO can fire both 5.56/.223 no issue. A Rifle chambered in .223 is not recommended to fire 5.56 due to higher chamber pressure of the 5.56 round. Cheers and stay safe!
