Beautiful gun. A definition of perfection. Very reliable. Nice trigger. It is an expensive gun but you really get a top quality firearm. Believe me, when you get this gun, you will forget and forgive yourself for the price you paid for this gun!! Buds provided an excellent price and service.

These are really nice pistols. I have the aluminum framed duty like this one, and a compact with the polymer later frame. There are plenty of reviews, and I think they are spot on. It's a beautifully made gun. The single action is like a match pistol, and the double is heavy, but very smooth. The frame to slide fit is tight, and it is very easy to shoot, even with the short sight radius. I honestly like the polymer Alpha better, and I will but the Alpha full size as soon as they are available. By the way, I have owned several X-5s, P210s, Dan Wessons, Wilson Berettas, HKs, etc. These are equal to or better than anything other than a full on custom, and at a reasonable price, as in several hundred dollars cheaper than a Sig X-5 or even a Sig Legion (corny marketing aside, a very shootable pistol). My only complaint is magazine price and availability, but still cheaper than HKs.

This actual model is called the black duty which has the full aluminum frame and grip, the first Sphinx I purchased was the 15 round Alpha with the polymer grip and always regretted getting rid of it so once I seen this one available with the 17 round and only slightly over one ounce heavier I thought it would be great for target shooting. I have never had a problem with either one of them, I put approximately 450 rounds of Winchester white box, perfecta and federal range ammo on 3 different occasions over the weekend without cleaning the handgun only until after I came home and it was flawless as was the other one I had before it. The black duty has a very nice protective coating and is a very dark black color, absolutely beautiful comfortable to shoot feels good in the hand and easy to manipulate, after you have some time with it you will realize these handguns are engineered from the finest quality inside and out. Like I said I have never had one issue with this one and the one prior, I put the subcompact 13-round on layaway which will eventually be my choice to carry. The single action double action and decock option are my favorite of needs. This one comes with 3 different grip sizes to choose from a speed loader, 2-17 round mags, cleaning kit, manual, lock and a nice plastic hard case. In my opinion I would recommend the Sphinx to anyone wanting a top-quality Dependable accurate handgun that I feel are second to none, for the price you cannot go wrong. Holsters are available for these guns but other accessories are still a little rare at this time,
