Dan, it can be done but is not recommended. I have fired 40S&W from Glock's, Rock Island Armory 10mm 1911's and EAA Witness 10mm's but do not make a practice of it. I do not in general for safety and warranty purposes.

Hi Kevin, no, this model does not have the "Mainspring Housing" Lockout.

The Springfield sight does not state that it does or does not have the ILS the TRP 10mm I handled and shot did have the ILS system It can be changed out by changing the main spring housing, mainspring cap, main springe retainer pin a and mainspring spring. I recommend calling springfield to se if the ILS in on this gun Call 1-800-680-6866

Yes, but when there is a limited number on hand they tend to be reserved for Team Bud's members. Sometimes after a certain amount of time they drop the Team Bud's only requirement if the item is still in stock.

They do Michael, once they are restocked. When certain firearm stock gets low or to a certain number, they sometimes are placed on TB Only status. It's one of the many benefits of TB's. Very nice shooting 10mm 1911. Can't go wrong with this one.

Off the top, the transaction with Buds was great. The TRP 10mm as shown is a good pistol. The 'octogrip' front strap treatment is nice, grippy but not sharp. I'm not a fan of the grips. They seem to make up for the absence of displeasure from the front strap. The pistol is accurate and has a tight chamber. Factory ammo runs great but it is finicky with my handloads whereas my Delta Elite doesnt care. The parts finish work is clean and nice.....but......fit-up on my pistol is akin to a mass produced pistol, not something with the name TRP, and the accompanying price. The TRP Operator half rail I purchased along with this one locked up so tight I thought is was broken upon delivery. My gen 1 full rail and stainless TRPs are also much tighter. 4 stars for parts fitting on a pistol of this price. Buy the Range Officer or similar and save some money.

Had issues out of the box. Had FTF issues with every magazine. SA took the gun back and repaired it in a timely manner. However, didn’t get any stickies in the box. Since the initial problem has been resolved the gun has ran flawless; approximately 5,000 rounds. Trigger has a crisp glass break to it. The recoil is a bit much for new shooters but can be easily tamed with training. No loose fitment issues. Safety is very tactile and natural to manipulate. Despite issues out the box, I will definitely purchase more SA 1911s and possibly branch out to their plastic framed pistols.

I am a 1911 45 ACP guy, and I had never shot a 10mm before because everyone talks about the recoil being so stout, but I must say that this gun shoots even softer than any of my other full size 1911's and it is amazing. I have Wilson's , Nighthawk custom , Dan Wesson's, and this TRP 10mm is absolutely amazing, the barrel is a stainless steal bull barrel with a bushing, the grips are really nice, and the overall finish is upgraded compared to the standard TRP's. Incidentally I was shooting target loads and super hot loads and the gun really shines with the hot loads and it really really tames them down to the recoil of a full size 45 ACP. Springfield really hit it off the ball park, and just made me a fan of the 10mm!

This is a beautiful 1911. The finish is without flaws. This pistol is every bit as well-built as my two SA TRP 45 ACPs. I fired it for the first time today using Armscor 180 grain, FMJ, @ 1,150 FPS. The pistol functioned perfectly. It is accurate. I have two other 10mm 1911s (one just under $600 and the other one about $775). The felt recoil of the TRP was noticeably less using the same ammo. This is a fine pistol.
