[5 of 5 Stars!]I was very pleased to open the cardboard box and discover that the rifle was shipped in a very nice tactical rifle case - a nice plus. It arrived exactly as advertised. I replaced the stock and handguard with M14 items because I prefer the look. My first trip to the range to zero it in on the 1000-inch range was very satisfying also. The trigger is great, and the rifle shoots much better than I do, which is what I bought it to do. I used M80 ball ammo and it held its 1" square when I did what I was supposed to do. Yes, it's expensive, but it is, to my thinking, the best deal on, arguably, the best battle rifle available. It's also a deal that Bud's makes more palatable. I would have paid $300-400 more to buy it locally from one of the stocking dealers. Get one. If you're not glad you did, you need to check your marbles to make sure that you still have them all.

[1 of 5 Stars!]Bought this recently without reading the fine print from Springfield. This weapon is gauranteed to shoot 3" groups at 100 yards. I could not find any details about the gaurantee. It just said 3" at 100 yds.
The reality of what this weapon can do is more like 4-6" at 100 yds. I was able to squeeze 2.75-2.9 inch groups out of it Using 168gr Federal match ammo. I used a vise and topped the weapon with a Vortex Viper 5-15x44mm scope. It was no use. I put it up against a Chinese Sks (gun cost $200) and it beat the M1a by an inch or better every time. I shot against my friend who has a Romanian PSL (gun cost $599) shooting corrosive surplus ammo and it shot less than half the size of group with a 4x scope! Point being if you have to have a Springfield to impress your cop/military buddies buy this. If you want something accurate enough to depend on past 50 yds, save your $$ and buy ANYTHING else.Show More Reviews...
