Its a wheeler product so no fear of quality. Does work for cleaning up the face of the receiver. Havent had a chance to see if there is a difference in accuracy that is noticeable.

Great product, Works to smooth out and flatten any high spots on your upper receivers barrel seat. Allows adjustment for proper alignment of gas tube while keeping torque within limits. Great price with fast and reasonable shipping rates. Thanks Bud!

I DECIDED TO GET THE WHEELER RECEIVER LAPPING TOOL TO USE ON MY NEXT TWO BUILDS (300 BLACKOUT). WHILE WAITING FOR PARTS I DECIDED TO TRY IT ON ONE OF MY OLD BUILDS (5.56) THAT WOULD NEVER GET UNDER 1.5 TO 2.0" AT 100 YARDS. WHEN I STARTED THE LAPPING PROCESS THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RECEIVER HIT FIRST. AFTER 9 SESSIONS WITH THE SUPPLIED COMPOUND I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO TRUE THE RECEIVER SURFACE. AFTER RE-ASSEMBLY WENT TO THE RANGE, (NOTE: NEVER REMOVED THE SCOPE FROM THE GUN), THE FIRST GROUP (3 SHOT) WAS AN 1.5" RIGHT AND .75" LOW, BUT TO MY SURPRISE WAS 1.1" AT 100 YARDS. I THAN SHOT 10 5 SHOT GROUPS WITH THE LOW BEING 1.15" AND THE LARGEST AT 1.48". ALL GROUPS SHOT WITH 55gr FEDERAL, OFF THE GUNS BY-POD AND NO REAR BAG SUPPORT. I SEE THESE RESULTS AS A PLUS. REMEMBER TO FOLLOW THE INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER AND YOU WILL HAVE POSITIVE RESULTS.

Works great does what it is supposed to do. It makes a big differance in the barrel seating against the upper receiver. Giving it a better truer seating surface. I would recomend this being used on all builds.

Absolutely garbage! I can't believe somthing turned on a lath could be so out of round, another junk product made in China I mounted my upper in a wheeler vice block then inserted the new lapping tool into it turned on the drill, the lapping tool was soo out of round my whole work bench started shaking and stuff started falling off my shelves. Using a saning block would work better. I try to return it, if not it'll be a fishing weight.

Even though it worked, the lapping "collar" was not concentric with the reciever shank.....moved in a orbital fashion, but only the outside diameter did this. If not for the great price forms Buds, I would have returned this. When I get a chance, I'll have it put it a lathe and true it to the reciever shank.....but, I was uneven on the reciever extension, and lapping allowed me to set torque to 40 ft lbs...rsbhunter
