I'm writing this review to hopefully save someone the few moments of anxiety and head scratching I experienced after my subcompact exchange kit arrived today. I already had a subcompact grip with my compact slide, but wanted the SC barrel and slide, too. Some will say I wasted my money, but for a shorter guy who appendix carries, the missing 0.3" could be significant. Anyway, on to the "unboxing." In addition to the barrel/slide/recoil spring and guide I needed, I received a grip module, which appears to be a size small, another manual, and a new slide lock lever, spring, and post. I didn't know I needed a new one of those, but whatever. I popped the compact slide off my subcompact grip and tried to slide the subcompact one on. It didn't want to go. I jiggled and checked and jiggled again and finally got it to slide on, but it felt weird and wouldn't lock back. After several more failed attempts, I figured maybe I did need a new slide lock lever, so I installed it. Still no go. I kept going back to my compact slide, and it slide on just fine, but the subcompact one wouldn't. It would stop just before the rear of the slide reached the rear rails. It could be forced beyond that, but that would engage the recoil spring and guide. Finally, I compared the recoil spring and guide assemblies between the two and discovered the base of the subcompact one was much larger in diameter than the one on the compact slide, but has flats on two sides of it. Those flats need to be oriented vertically for the slide to fit onto the fire control module properly. The manual says so on page 45. I guess I could have saved myself a little stress had I read that first, but who does that? Initial reports are that that seemingly insignificant 0.3" difference between the compact and subcompact barrel/slide combination is actually quite significant for someone like me. I'll see how well it shoots Sunday, but for now it seems to carry much more comfortably. Hopefully, it won't detract from accuracy, because it's fun dinging steel at 80 yards. I'll rate it "good" for now, because there isn't an "excellent."

Great product and a must have if you own the Sig P320 modular pistol!!! Firing control assembly/trigger mechanism fit right in to this x-change kit in seconds making it into a 2nd gun (the SubCompact version of this pistol). Shoots great and performed as expected. Very quick shipping from Buds. Great transaction all the way around!
