Made in the USA, the M-LOK Type 2 Rail Covers are low-profile, two-piece covers that install directly onto most M-LOK aluminum hand guards (non-polymer). It features a TSP (Trapezoidal Surface Projections) texture for additional grip, and protrudes only slightly more than 1/8" from the mounting surface to maintain a low-profile. Includes six panels, each covering one M-LOK slot. Not compatible with MAGPUL MOE M-LOK, MOE SL and SGA forends, and may not be compatible with free float hand guards that have a wider and flatter profile.

I use 2 packages ( 6 individual rail cover pieces per pack ) on my handguard and locate them just behind the gas block for a lightweight secure rest for my hand. 9 individual pieces, 3,6,9, o'clock for the carbine gas blocks and 12 individual pieces (2 packages) for mid length locations. Excellent magpul products! Make sure you position the base pieces in the center of your handguard slots and they are flat against the handguard before snapping the smaller lock pieces in. Buds Gun Shop is outstanding and have had the best price!

These covers have a very aggressive texture and mount solidly to MLOK-type rails. They add some thickness to your handguard but not a hugely significant amount. One potential issue might be mounting them to MLOK slots make of a thicker matter such as plastic where the tabs that hold these on are not long enough to engage with the inner side of the handguard and stay attached. Something to keep in mind if these are intended for a rail/surface made of something other than aluminum.
