Great handgun! I'd made up my mind a few months ago that this was the 1911 I wanted, but kept putting off due to the price. But finally I heeded the good advice of a friend who told me, "If you buy the one you really want you only cry once." I'm glad I listened. To begin with it feels really good in the hand. Good 1911s are heavy, but given the proper balance I ceased to pay attention to the weight the first time it went to the range. It shoots true. Has not jammed. And frankly it is absolutely beautiful. The only negative I can give it is that I expected the Crimson Trace to be presighted. It was close, but needed a little fine tuning. The bottom line is that you just can't go wrong if you decide to pick one up for yourself.

First off Budsgunshop.com service and speed of delivery is fantastic. Prices are extremely competitive and they deliver as promised. I purchased the Kimber Master Carry Custom .45 ACP with 5” barrel. A real beauty, and a driving factor was my ownership of two other Kimbers. My only concern is that unlike my other two Kimbers, the thumb safety slips out of safety lock a little too easily for my liking. Normal handling of the gun, such as exchanging clips, bolstering and unholstering, or just general handling can (and has) unlocked the safety. I personally like the feel and “click” of a firm thumb safety for my own piece of mind. I am currently in contact with Kimber customer service to have the safety tightened up, as it were, and trust it will be rectified to my satisfaction soon. Can’t wait to run a few boxes of ammo at the range with it.

My first 1911 and my first Kimber. Great pistol. Looked at a lot of 1911s and decided I wanted one that wasn't going to need later upgrades to become what I wanted, I just wanted to buy the finished product right away. Fit and finish is terrific as is Kimber's reputation. A bit concerning that the very first round at the range was a misfeed (Blazer Brass) but after that no problems so far during break-in. I was surprised that they didn't even attempt to line up the Crimson Trace out of the box (about 6" left at 15yds). The mass of the stainless frame is perfectly balanced and feels natural with the 5" barrel. I've been using a Springfield XDM .40 and the polymer body just has too much recoil for my carpal tunnel. This larger caliber, stainless frame is much more enjoyable to put several hundred rounds down range. Field stripping and reassembly is easy. Just an all around pleasure to shoot. Well worth the money.
