If you have a nice gun safe and one of these does not reside in there, you lose your "man card". This gun is just too cool not to own. As always Buds did a fine job processing and shipping.
This gun is NOT for the faint of heart. It's huge, it's heavy, and you need some strength to rack it. Mine came with the extra "Violin Case" which is actually more like a guitar case. The fit and finish of everything is beautiful. The "normal" case is very high quality and form fitted. It has "Chicago Typewriter" emblazoned on the case. I got a 20 Round Stick and a 50 Round Drum with the gun as well. Very nice package. This was one of my "bucket list" guns, that I can now check off.

Extremely disappointing. First, it doesn’t come in a guitar case as shown, just a regular rifle case. Second, when I took it out to shoot it jammed every 3rd round, regardless of which magazine I used. It’s beautiful to look at and seems solidly built, but just doesn’t perform.

If you go online and look at reviews for the Thompson 1927 A1 you will see the reviews are all over the board. This is a gun like no other, love it or hate it. I myself love it for a lot of reasons. First and foremost it is a work of art and It's also a page out of history that reaches back almost a 100 years . This gun is as American as it get's. It's about war and it's a 100% gangster. When I look at it, my mind pictures a heavy set gangster with Cuban cigar in his mouth saying "Keep the change ya filthy animal." I feel luck and proud I own this iconic blast from the past. It was a lot of money but it's also a lot of gun. I'm not sure I will ever take this gun out and shoot it, that's not why I bought it. I bought this gun because I still can. Thanks Bud's gun shop for standing strong in the face of adversity!

The gun is beautiful. The violin case is an excellent accessory. My problem is I cannot pull the bolt back with all my strength, let alone normal pressure. The manufacturer says it is considered ‘stiff’ by most standards and a person's individual strength will determine how difficult it is to cycle the action. I simply cannot without a handle to help me. even then it is very difficult. The manufacturer added “If your rifle is operating properly, then there is no issue with your gun and the force required to cycle is considered normal.” First time on the range the gun jammed after 4 shots with a round wedged in the breech by the bolt. I was able to remove the stick magazine but I cannot pull the bolt back to clear the jam. I’m waiting on the manufacturer to recommend a course of action.

I had ordered the Auto-Ordnance - Thompson 1927 A-1 Deluxe 45 ACP with the 20rd stick and 50rd drum mags in the "Violin Case" early last month from Bud's Guns and received it at my FFL a week later (what a beaut!!!). But...it came in the plastic hard case. I called customer service at Bud's Guns immediately from the Brothers In Arms store and spoke with the CS rep who spoke with her supervisor then got back on with me to say they are contacting Kahr Arms to find what happened. A week later I inquired of Bud's again for the status and they reported to me that Kahr Arms is sending the "Violin Case". A few days later it arrived at my residence in great condition! Yet, a few days later, Karen, CS rep at Bud's Guns, called me to inquire if all has gone well with the "Violin Case" arrival. I informed her all is well and I am still a very satisfied customer of Bud's Gun Shop!

tried it out for first time last weekend. shot once then jammed, took six times of un jamming before it shot again. only managed to get 4 rounds through it before i gave up for fear of causing damage to barrel.4 rounds were very accurate when it fired. only using stick magazine.them 4 rounds were all after unjamming.love the gun if I can get it to work.trying new magazine as one i was given is pretty sloppy, hope it works or it will be returned with a sad face.Buds guns were great , it is auto ordanance prob I think. wish me luck, I really want it.

A:Lance, this firearm takes about 3 or 4 hundred rounds for break in and then a good cleaning and lube to remove metal shavings from break in. Take it back to the range or do this on site and you will see the difference from initial performance. Many only fire a mag or drum or two right out of he box and then report issues. Cheers!See 2 more answers | -
