Optima V2 NW Stainless steel/Xtra Green, 50 Caliber, FOS
CVA’s new line of “Northwest Guns” offer all of the features that shooters love in our Accura V2, Optima V2 and Wolf break-action models, while still meeting the open-breech/ignition requirements of Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Our patent-pending NW Ignition System features a modified version of our Quick Release Breech Plug (QRBP) – the only breech plug that is completely finger removable even after multiple firings. This “NW QRBP” has four milled “windows” around the gripping surface, which renders the ignition “open to the elements” as required the muzzleloading regulations of these states. It also features an integral nipple designed for use with traditional Musket Cap primers, and the face of the plug is funnel shaped for more reliable ignition with loose propellants. Plus, a firing pin sized specifically for musket caps and a stronger firing pin spring provide fast and reliable ignition of the propellant charge.
Note: CVA’s Northwest line of muzzleloading rifles were developed and tested using RWS musket caps. For this reason, we strongly recommend using RWS musket caps with these guns.

Great rifle! EXCELLANT trigger. VERY accurate. Relatively inexpensive. Hits like a freight train. Very impressed with this rifle my dad is now going to buy one.

Great gun! Light weight, handles well. Shoots very nicely. The fiber optic sights are super bright—almost too bright in broad daylight. Good recoil pad. I shoot a 250 gr bullet over 100 gr of powder. This load kicks, but the recoil pad does the trick.

Pretty decent rifle for the price. It shoots true I had some issues with factory sights coming loose and some rusting in the barrel.

I drew a multi season elk permit so needed to pick up a muzzleloader. I got it and immediately put a peep sight on it. It's easy to shoot and clean. Love it so far. Just be aware it uses musket caps, not #11 primers. Those were a lil hard to find where I live. As always, Buds delivered fast with no hiccups.
