Polish WZ-48 .22 LR Training Rifle - Blue/Black, 1 Round, Wood Stock

I am so happy I purchased this one. I got a beautiful rifle. All numbers match. Beautiful wood. Bluing is great. Dated 1955. It looks like it had seen very little use. Really happy about this one.

I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of this 62-year-old WZ48 rifle. The finish was in very good condition, with only a few, minor, pits. The stock was also in very good shape, with no damage, and only slight wear. The action worked well, and even more so after cleaning and lubing. I was also pleased to find that it was a 1954 production model, which matches my Polish M44 (made at the same factory). I had been told that production years were not selectable, so my "luck of the draw" was good. I am looking forward to test-firing it on Wednesday. As there rifles have been listed on GunBroker and other sites for a significantly higher price, I am well-satisfied with buying this from Bud's. P.S. My FFL, who is also a gunsmith, was impressed with the condition of this rifle.

Both rifles meet my expectations and are in good condition. Both stocks are in very nice condition with no cracks. Shipping was faced and well done, the rifles were protected from any handling issues that could have occurred. Luckily none did. Thank you to the Budsginshop staff for taking good care of me.

As advertised used and a little worn, mine was all matching except for the extractor. No excess cosmoline, chamber face not damaged from firing pin, bore looks good, and overall a great deal.

Got mine in a few days. As always, it's well packed and the gun seemed to be in good condition as described. I ran a bore snake initially to test fire and also squirted some lube on the action. Make sure to read the instructions. Never force the bolt in or out of the gun. For 200, and despite being a single shot, I really like this rifle. Well made. I thoroughly cleaned mine after the first range visit. There's lots of gun grease so you may want to use CLP to clean it all out. After thoroughly cleaning the wood and all the parts, I'm one proud owner. Excellent value.

Ordered another Wz48 after my first one arrived all matching and in very good condition. This second one arrived with a non matching bolt & some light surface rust on the barrel shank, receiver, and trigger guard. Both have outstanding bores & shoot very well. Both came packed very well & only required a minimal amount of cleaning before hitting the range.

Please bring a rag when you inspect this rifle. Mine had a bunch of thick grease on it. Overall, the rifle looks in good condition; however, this gun has been *extensively* dry fired. When I did the initial inspection, it looked like it had been peened a bit, but not too bad. What I didn't realize is the thick grease was covering up severe damage to the upper chamber. It is far beyond being peened, but is a groove that's up to 1/16" deep into the chamber that's extends the distance that the firing pin travels. A bulging case is certainly expected, and a split case is a real possibility with this rifle, sending hot gases in my face. So again I say, bring a rag and make sure to wipe out ALL crud that may be on the face of or in the chamber. While cosmetically Bud's is selling rifle in good condition, functionally this rifle is very poor and poses some risk of injury to the user (i.e., me) if not careful.

Thanks Bud's, I know the luck of the draw. My WZ48 was a dream, all matching numbers VG+ condition and it is able to put all shots under a nickle at 25 yards. Mine will be hard to beat. I am so pleased.

Absolutely ecstatic about the Wz48 I received. 1954 example with a beautiful bore & numbers matching. Stock has a few dents, dings, scratches, and one small arsenal repair but what do you expect from a 60+yr old military training rifle? Bluing is pretty good as well. Only minimal cleaning required to get her ready for the range today. I will be ordering from Bud's again in the future, thank you!
