Marlin XT-22MTSL .22 Magnum Bolt Action Rifle - Stainless/Silver, 22" Barrel, 12 Rounds, Wood Stock

Wish I had bought 4-5 of them. Even though this wasn’t a JM stamped Marlin, it is still accurate 1.5”-2” at 100 with most every ammo I’ve tried.

I've always liked Marlin firearms. I ordered this XT22 magnum based on previous experience with Marlin firearms. It is clearly 'mostly' well made. The laminated stock is beautiful! The action is solid. And it shoots good. I have to say that I am disappointed with some of the design elements however. The front sight, the rear buckhorn sight and the trigger guard are all made of plastic. The front sight is bright and colorful but it's not just a fiber optic top on metal...that would have been much more classy choice. Instead they chose all plastic...and not good even good quality plastic. I'm sure the new Marlin management has been looking for ways to cut corners but I'm old fashioned...plastic just makes the rifle look cheap. The design choices don't make for a quality firearm that could become a family heirloom. I hope Marlin will re-think their engineering. This is a nice little rifle that should weather well but plastic....please!

I have always been a Marlin fan. This rifle did not disappoint me. Wood is beautiful, bolt action is smooth and crisp. Shoots very accurately. Only wish Marlin would make a .22 Magnum in a lever action like the 39A.

Great gun. Marlin has always put out wonderful firearms and this gun is proof. I own four marlins and this is my new favorite. It has everything i wanted in a .22 mag with the beautiful laminate stock, stainless barrell and action, bolt action, tube fed...this met my criteria without breaking the bank on a different brand. I have sighted it in with a scope i bought and it shoots excellent, very loud for a 22 mag but may have been the cci ammo i was using. I have heard rumor of marlin producing bad products now that Remington bought them but i can assure you that this is a top grade product and my father actually bought one exactly like it too and they are twins. No problems, easy shooting, accurate, and beautiful.
