[5 of 5 Stars!]This is the third Burris FastFire III that I have purchased. The first 2, both 3 MOA, have held up well, maintained their zeros, maintained clarity their clarity, and been a joy to use. One of them has been exposed to about 5 k rounds of .38 special with no problems. The one that is the subject of this review is an 8 MOA and I was expecting a bigger looking dot. In practical use at 7 - 25 yard distances there's not a significant difference between the 3 MOA and the 8 MOA dot. The 3 MOA dot appears sharper than the 8 MOA dot. There is a bit of a haze or halo at the periphery of the 8 MOA dot but no so for the 3 MOA dot. The 8 MOA dot is a bit easier to "pick up", or "acquire" the sight, as I bring the firearm up to sight on target as compared to the 3 MOA. These Burris FastFire III seem to hit the sweet spot for cost versus quality. All 3 of my Burris Fastfire III are used on S&W revolvers and mounted on Raptor Engineering mounts which I highly recommend.
