I wasn’t expecting much at that price. However, when I got the gun having it less than one hour, I noticed in the HALF COCK position sometimes the cylinder does not spin as it’s supposed to. So I reached out to Chiappa their response was “Michael, with our ten shot the timing is VERY close. if you pull it past the half cocked position it will more thatn usual drop the bolt causing what you are saying. if you would like to send it it we could take a look at it just to make sure something is not actually wrong.” So I decided to try to shoot this thing regardless, to their benefit the gun shoots smoothly.
After the first 20 rounds, I noticed my trigger finger was bleeding, so inspected the gun a little closer, there’s tooling marks on the gun on the trigger and on the trigger guard where the two halves of of the fire were put together, and they weren’t that noticeable, but were razor sharp, I pulled out the Dremel and smoothed then out, then repainted the trigger and inside of the guard. All good now.
If you are looking for a gun to plunk with, that’s reliable and you can shoot right out of the box, this may or may not be the gun for you. If you want something that’s going to last in a similar price point, move on over to Heritage Arms. Chiappa is a decent gun as long as you understand what your buying, with this it is definitely buyer beware, and Chiappa doesn’t offer much in the way of customer service, so good luck and good shooting.

Definitely not a Ruger! I have not fired the Chiapas's 10 shot 22 yet but my first impressions are a bit skeptical. For one thing, the cylinder wobbles a bit; at half cock, it spins sometimes smooth then gets stuck and The pin that holds the cylinder can be pushed past it's stopping point and jams in the half cock position. The only way to get it out is with pliers. Even when it it is in the right position, the cylinder still jams! ...and at times, returning the hammer to the safety rest position also gets jammed. The pistol so far reminds of the Jennings 9mm I bought for 50 bucks. From a gun dealer, buddy of mine; it fell apart literally as I fired it! The mag dropped out, the slide flew back as the spring went "ping"! I was standing there with half a pistol. It was pretty embarrassing! Hopefully this is not a repeat of the past. I will keep you posted after I take it to the range.

Wish I could give this 5 stars, but my experience with the gun doesn't merit it. Sighting in as you normally would, mine shoots very low. You can hit your target if you raise the front of the barrel, but the front sight blade covers the spot you want to hit. I also had problems ejecting the empty cartridges. They seemed to swell after shooting and were difficult to push out of the chamber. I've only put 100 rounds through it, and on two occasions the cylinder locked up because the spent cartridges were swollen and wouldn't allow it to rotate. The ammo I was using is a well known name brand and I use it in my other 22's with no issues. I bought this revolver for my son, but I'm having serious reservations about teaching him to use a pistol that doesn't sight in as it should.
