SW M&P9 P/C PORTED 5" - Blue/Black, 5" Barrel, 17+1 Rounds, Polymer Grips, 3-Dot Sights

I liked this gun, but did not love it. In theory the ported barrel does/should have less muzzle rise, but for me it was not that noticeable. In general I'm not a huge polymer fan, every one I have owned I ended up selling. Polymer is nice for a carry, capacity or a duty option, since they are lighter weight and will likely never rust with minimum common sense care. I ended up going with a STI 2011 for my race gun. As a kid I grew up with 1911s and carried one for decades. So naturally I felt more at home with the 1911/2011 platform. Just my preference. Most importantly remember what Dorothy said, 'There's no place like home'! So find what works best for you.

I'm unsure about this gun really. It is well built, reliable, has a decent factory trigger, but I for the life of me can't figure out what the ports actually do other that get dirty. I feel no perceptible decrease in felt recoil, and no noticeable difference in controllability, or faster follow up shots. It seems like a gimmick. Perhaps if it came in 10MM...

Best Handgun I own. I'm a big fan of the S&W M&P platform and this one exceeded my expectations. Very easy to add my Trijicon RMR and the trigger is a definite step up from the stock trigger.

I purchased this firearm after much reviewing and recommendations. To date I have put 450 rounds down range with no failures. Used several brands and weights of ammo and all fed and ejected. The accuracy was better than I expected. I am impressed and very happy to own this one. A pleasure to shoot!

I went from an M&P9 to this and there is a night and day difference in both the quality and accuracy from the Performance Center edition. While the flaws of the original M&P have been address in the 2.0 model, the Performance Center is leap years past the 2.0. The trigger is a major upgrade. Not as good as an APEX trigger, but well on its way. The reset is quiet and did take new muscle memory to learn where it was, the trigger pull felt smoother over the M&P9. The obvious improvement is the follow up shots when firing 2+ rounds. You add a weapon light to this and with the extra weight combined with the ports, vertical rise is at a minimum and you are back on target quicker. My product rating is based solely on the product and not on Bud's purchasing process. This was the first time I've used Bud's and have heard nothing but good things. I purchased the product on a Friday, payment was verified by the following Friday when it went into the shipping queue. It was set for a two-day shipping, excluding weekends, with it shipping on Monday with an expected arrival date of Wednesday. It arrived on Thursday at a preferred FFL. That was the only negative I have of the whole process and I'm not entirely sure what caused the extra day for delivery.

I love the gun. I was not happy that it was not at the trigger pull weight that it was advertised at. Called S&W and they told me to just shoot it and call them back after 500 rounds. After 600 rounds, it was within 1/4 lb of the advertised trigger pull weight. Maybe I am silly, but I believe that if an manufacturer advertises something as X, then it should be X. I decided that it was not worth sending it in for 1/4 lb difference. The gun is comfortable in the hand. I did not notice any difference in felt recoil with the ported barrel. I did notice that the front sight got very sooty from the gases. I since then have swapped out the barrel for an Apex barrel. I also swapped out various springs for Apex springs and I put in an Apex sear. I compete with this gun, so I am picky in relationship to how it feels. It sucks when your eyes get old. Using a red dot has improved my scores. Very pleased with my purchase. Bud's is the best.

Best factory gun in its class. Only upgrade was an optic and apex trigger.

I received my Performance Center 2 weeks ago, and have put 300 rounds down the barrel. This thing is a dream to shoot! Light recoil and flawless functioning. I have no doubt this pistol will hold up to my sub-zero temperatures here in the next few months. I would buy another again in a heartbeat. And of course, Buds was great to order from. Shipped to me in rural Alaska within a week. Will definitely be doing business with them again in the near future.
