Snap Caps are made to protect your firearms by relieving the stress on your firing pins and firing pin springs. When you safely store your unloaded gun, put a snap cap in the chamber and fire your gun to allow the firing pin to lay at rest. This will help prevent firing pins from breaking in the future. Didn't notice that this review was for both the .38 Special and the 9mm Snap Caps. Ditto thumbs-up for both, and since the 9mm Snap Cap package only has 5, I'll want to order another package so I can fill my mag. My H&K VP9 has no problem with these.
