Got his over a legit WWII Winchester my buddy recommended. After going to the range many times I can't say I'm disappointed at all. I'm thinking of buying another I'm so happy with this one.

Fun plinker. Experienced a few feeding issues at first, but worked itself out after about 200 rounds.

I love this rifle now, but was extremely unreliable with the factory bolt. Misfeeds and failures to go into battery. I ended up getting a rusty, pitted original WW2 bolt off eBay and swapped it into the rifle after cleaning and lubing. 100% reliability after that! Get your act together, Kahr.

After having read numerous reviews on this carbine, I decided to take a chance. Buds was great...shipped quickly with no issues. As to the carbine, using Kuhnhausen's manual I went through all the parts with a dial caliper and micrometer and all looked well. The stock tip was properly rounded and it came with the wider type 2 barrel band. The receiver was cast but finishing was within the price point. After cleaning and lubing, I headed to the range. Loaded and fired one shot. Dead on for elevation and slightly right at 50 yds. Loaded three rounds and upon pulling the trigger...it doubled and left a live round in the chamber with the hammer down. Tried two more rounds with the same result. A double with the hammer down on an empty chamber. As I was planning on switching out as many GI parts as I could, I wasn't ready to hit the panic button yet. An M1 sear and hammer from Fulton Armory fixed the problem.
One hundred rounds so far and it works fine. Feeding has been good. Time will tell. So, once you get past Auto Ordinance shipping an unregistered, unreliable machine gun...it's all good.

Had my doubts about this rifle but it has become my favorite rifle to shoot hardly any recoil accurate very fun to plink steel with have had a few hiccups with failure to feed but everything I have seen points to just the general design not the brand or quality of the workmanship usually easy and quick to fix by pulling on the charging handle an let it go

I absolutely love this rifle! It came boxed as nice as they come in form fitted foam. The sling swivel was protected. The muzzle was protected. I have taken it to the range twice. It's an absolute joy to shoot. All of my friends wanted a turn with it! In 500 rounds I had one FTF. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one!

This M1 carbine serial # 13xx arrived timely and undamaged from Buds. Quality was as expected except for the heat shield extending 1/8 to 3/16 inch past the stock and having a very sharp corner. This was easily corrected by sanding and refinishing. Forget this rifles historical value and buy a new manufacture M1 carbine for plinking, small game, and home defence. I feel this rifle in general is worthy of a 5 star rating in spite of my personal purchase needing heat shield fitting.

Bought this three years ago. Very accurate. But a little trouble with jamming even with trying different cartridges. Sent it in to manufacturer, and a gunsmith said it was fine. Sent it back and it's still jamming. I am not sure of the quality of these Auto-Ordnance M-1 carbines.

The absolute single-most satisfying firearm purchase that I have made in a long time! I let go of an WWII era M1 Carbine a few years ago and lived to regret it. I have another, but wanted a shooter. After comparing the Auto Ordnance to the Inland, I went with the A-O because of price mainly. The few things that I discovered after-the-fact that I thought would bother me, in-fact, do not. I do not care that there is no bayonet lug. The "originals" didn't have them and they were added later. I'm not trying to re-enact or go soldier with this rifle. I carry a knife on my belt. The side-to-side safety that people say can be easily mistaken for the magazine release is not a concern for me either. It's a very positive safety and is very crisp. I you want the safety on or off, press it. If you want to release the magazine, press the magazine release. Know your equipment, stay practiced, stay calm, stay safe. Think and do... The wood is beautiful. The fit and feel of this piece is remarkable. I will wait until I get it out to the range for my final thoughts. My hopes are, that the "L" rear sights are satisfactorily set for elevation. The windage settings must be accomplished with a brass drift or rear-sight tool. Not a problem. I ordered the adjustable rear sight from A-O just in case I decide to switch them out. I do not intend to file down the front post for elevation adjustments, but again, I will see how close things are at 50 and 100 yards. The packaging for the M1 Carbine from Auto Ordnance is impressive. I'd rather they ship a sling or second magazine with the piece instead of investing in high-end padding inside of a box that is going to most often than not, end up a landfill.

I love this little rifle, when it fires. Problem is, right now it is an unsafe weapon. Took it to the range, had problems from the get/go. Had a gunsmith with me there who said the gun is unsafe. The extractor is not engaging a chambered cartridge. The bolt is not going into battery, but the hammer will drop on an unlocked bolt. I have had the rifle for about a month, so I am going to call Kahr in the morning tp get them to fix it, the gunsmith, a veteran, said if they will not help me to give him their number and he will talk to them directly. I really like him!

So this was my first time buying a gun online and I have to say buying this gun from buds was totally worth it. I've researched for a few years now about buying an M1 Carbine new and I had always been a bit skeptical about it. I've read tons of good reviews of this gun and bad ones, including tons of youtube review videos. I decided to just bite the bullet and I bought this gun like 3 weeks ago and got it last Friday it came in perfect condition, box was a little beat up I'm sure from FedEx but gun was good. I took it to the range yesterday and and she worked like a charm, straight out of the box, no oil added or nothing. I did have 3 jams on the first two magazines I fired (only used the 15 round factory mag that came with it) but after that the m1 carbine worked flawlessly. I went through a 100 rounds. Accuracy I'm not sure yet the sights are flip sights, which I kinda don't like. I'll probably just buy the ones that dial in you can find them on amazon and I'll just take it to a gunsmith and have them install it for me. I was at an indoor range and it was a bit dark so I couldn't really test the accuracy out, Ill be doing that in a couple weeks at an outdoor range. Honestly if you've been a skeptic like me about buying the Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine you've got nothing to worry about, I am super happy with mine and with budsgunshop on the purchase I'll be buying from y'all again for sure.

I am a avid collector of period guns , I have a all matching m1 30 cal and my son loved shooting it so I decided to try a less expensive one. Their are a few brands and I have been a fan of auto ordance for along time now. They use to their headquarters in upstate ny which I would pass and shop in on the way to my family’s cabin in the Catskills. So I know kahr is now auto ord. This gun works with any magazine from orig 30 cal to new ones. It even works with the m1 mags with the lock back Bolt option flawlessly. It holds a great zero and ammo is cheap. It’s a great gun. Doesn’t really have hunting uses. My dad when he uses my airboat in New Orleans he brings his air ordance m1 with him. For the low price it so worth the money and it is period correct . I have just ordered the paratroopers model to have for my collection.if your going to buy a 30’cal don’t buy other brands like chippa or less expensive for this price you know it’s really a auto ordance (kahr) and your getting a great gun. On a side note if you plan to put a sling on it make sure you buy the sling with Oiler without the Oiler you can’t attach the sling. And make sure maybe you use some gaffers tape or I took the time and Coates the metal snap on the sling with rubber paint it keeps the wood from getting scratched and looks great in black (the sling clips)

This thing rocks! I wanted to get an original WWII M1, but couldn't grasp shelling out over 1K for a gun that could possibly be in just okay shape, so decided to buy this new reproduction instead. Let me tell ya, I don't regret and if you're contemplating the same, than get the AO! Made in the USA by Kahr Arms and is of beautiful quality. Parkerized finish was perfect and the grain on the stock is beautiful. I added a clear coat to the stock, as it comes in with a matte finish, that kind of scratches easily, so you may want to do the same. But if not, just be careful with the stock, as that finish is gorgeous either way. It's not secret that these rifles need roughly a 200 round break in period. Had quite a few FTF within the first hundred rounds, or so, but only 2 FTF's in the next 100 rounds, and 400 rounds in since I purchased this gun in October, and haven't had an FTF since the first day I took it to the range (it's gone 3 times already!). Honeslty, it's a wonderful rifle and you won't regret. Lastly, as always, Bud's was awesome! Thanks for offering the great layaway plan that you do!

The rifle arrived quickly and without damage. The graining of the walnut stock is a thing of beauty although the fit on the top piece is slightly off center. Otherwise, fit and finish is excellent. Had some failures to feed in the first 100 rounds but the next 75 fed flawlessly. Before shooting it, I cleaned the rifle and oiled the action. I did so again after 100 rounds. Feeds well with both the factory supplied magazine and a Korean 30 round newly manufactured one. Shooting it off hand at 30 yards, I can easily hit a four inch round target. That’s all I really expect of it given the fact that my vision is not all that good. I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend Auto Ordnance’s M1 Carbine to anyone.

Great price for a great little firearm - shipped promptly to local FFL, total sale plus transfer fee was significantly less than local options. Beautiful stock and good fit and finish - cast receiver looks different than than the genuine WWII article. Short and handy rifle - can see why they were the troops' favorite. Carbine shoots wonderfully - tight group at 25 yards with cheap ammo from the rudimentary rear sight, needed to be tapped a bit to center the group. One FTF with the included mag, but ran like a top otherwise for 200 rounds. Cleaned and broken in now - will serve admirably as a 'grown-up 22' for years to come.

I have one problem with this Carbine but I'm not too concerned about it. After 200 rounds I still have FTF, FTE problems. Thanks to Buds lifetime warranty (which includes shipping) I'll give it a few hundred more break in rounds. Yes, it still deserves 5 stars! Very well built, very accurate and very beautiful. Added bonus... The stock is not red, but it is encased in plastic. I was so happy when I opened the box that the stock was obviously walnut with no red tint to it as pictured. However, when I picked it up I was shocked by the plastic coating. It felt dry, yet was very slippery. I could see the grain but the shell was opaque. Fortunately, their process does not bond the plastic to the the wood grain and 30 minutes with one piece of 180 grit sand paper removed the entire finish! It just shredded it like an outgrown shell. 3 coats of Tung Oil and the result was stunning! 20 hours from start to firing line! Deep rich walnut tones and unbelievable Tiger Stripe grain! A quick buff with steel wool and I had a beautiful non-slip finish! I am in love with this Carbine! Kahr did a great job building it. My 6th gun from Bud's. Good people. They make mistakes like everyone else, but they take responsibility for them and bend over backwards to correct them! They can smooth out anything but your bad choices and misconceptions. Never had a bad experience, even when things didn't go as planned! Always been treated like I personally, am the reason they exist! That's hard to find anywhere!
