I mounted a cheap 3-9x40 scope and took it to a 50 yard range. After sighting in the scope it was in a one inch bullseye every shot. cant wait to try it on the 100 yard and further ranges. Hoping to end up on the 300 yard range.

Ruger mini 14 223 ss target ..with hogue stock..this gun shoots excellent. The acthion is smooth and funtchions flawlessly..great workmanship.as should be expected from ruger . The overmold stock makes for a super non slip grip ..only draw back was ruger qualty control got sloppy.. the finish on my scope ring caps is total junk ...they are textured and pitted the finish is ruined..have to wait for replacement .

This rifle is a very good choice as a go to weapon in times of emergency. The synthetic stock is very well made. Stainless steel is always durable in bad weather. The action is dependable through-out all circumstances. The .223 caliber can be found anywhere in the country. All in all, a good sound weapon. Thank you. Race Bishop. COYOTE CROSSING OUTDOORS.

this is a excellent rifle and it was a great price. Buying from Buds was a great experience with their sales help. I had the gun sent to Patriot firearms in Holden MO. Darrin only charges $25 for a FFL transfer and is a great guy to deal with. I give the rifle, Buds and Patriot all 5 star ratings

Buds did a great job on prep and delivery, Ruger on the other hand did not match the s/s finish on barrel to what was on the rifle. shots accurate but ammo isn't cheap and you will be better off having one ammo so you don't have to keep jacking with the Harmonic Balancer. LDW TX.

I like this rifle, and it certainly an improvement over the standard Mini-14 in terms of accuracy (my standard mini is about the least accurate rifle I've ever shot). However, I believe an AR action is a better investment. The counter-weight does effect precision (mine is most precise at ~2 turns in), but I've had trouble with it vibrating loose every ~60 or so shots, regardless of lock-tight or how much torque you apply to the screws. It's a great rifle, but for just a little more money, my DPMS AR-15 with a 24" barrel is more accurate.

Ruger builds a solid gun. This is a target model of the famous mini 14 223. The barrel is heavy outside of the hand guard. It feeds and functions flawlessly. The TGT model is a bit heavier (front heavy for me). Despite it being a target model it has a 5.5 to 6.0 lb trigger on it. Be warned, it chews-up brass (like the other mini-14's). So if you're a target shooter that likes to reload you may find that a bit frustrating.
